need interview tips!

I have two interviews (today and tomorrow) and I'm nervous - even though I'm interviewing for my own job.

Any tips? Questions to ask/be prepared for? Advice?

Re: need interview tips!

  • No advice... I suck at interviews.  Sweaty palms, studdering, you name it, but GOOD LUCK!

  • Are they interviewing anyone else or is this basically just a formality? Either way, good luck!

If they ask how/why you'd be a good fit for the job, I'm sure you have lots of examples to give.

  • good luck  ditto what gtown stated....I'm sure you have the technical aspect of your position down...I'd spend time getting comfortable with all forms of behavioral questions like: tell me about a time when you suggested a better way to improve a X, tell me about a time when you wished you handled a situation differently, what would you have changed, what would you say if you were asked to speak about yourself to a group of people...I don't like them myself but it gets the interviewer to learn how you would handle certain situations...  Good luck!

  • my company always asks questions like: why should we hire you over the other candidates? why do you want this job? what are your weaknesses? where do you see yourself in 5 years? give me the elevator speech about yourself in less than 60 seconds.

  • No questions here, but I am always impressed with candidates who think through the question--even asking for a second to think about it, ask to and then take notes, and ask interesting questions themselves.  It shows me that they are strategic and have done research about the company.

    Good luck!
