Re: Meghan

  • No worries!  It's not terribly common.

It's a blend of dried herbs that would commonly be found in Provence.  My bottle says it has basil, thyme, fennel and lavendar.  It smells very floral.

It says you can use it on fish or meat, but I've only used it in the strata that's on my blog.  I'm going to mess around with it, but I'm pretty sure that DH won't like it (he doesn't like lavendar), so I have to be careful what I use it in.  I think it would be lovely in a loaf of bread.

  • Oh, I know a lot of herbs/spices but I definitely did not know that one.  I'm not a huge fan of lavendar either so I'm thinking I'll steer clear.  I also don't like fish, lol!

The strata looks yummy though.  I wonder if there is something else I can substitute in it or if it would throw off the flavor completely.

  • You could probably do just basil and thyme.  The thyme would be a little lemony, which is nice.  And basil is always good.
  • This conversation is not helping that it's almost lunchtime for me and also I've been craving some savory things lately.  When grad school is over, I really want to branch out and do more cooking/baking of new things.  Not the same old stuff!  I love your blog btw!
