York area dog walker/pet sitter?

We live in the York area, and are wanting to look into a dog walker or pet sitter when we go out of town for weekends.  We currently board our dog, but think he would be more comfortable at home.  We board him at an awesome place that has doggy day care, but he's not really predictable with other dogs, so we usually have to pay for him to have one-on-one time.  Any help would be appreciated!

  • I'm interested in responses too!

Just curious kellslw - where do you send your dog now? We need a place for our wedding weekend and I have no idea where to begin looking!

One of my coworkers takes their dogs there for doggy daycare, but we just use the boarding.  They're a little pricy, but he's not in a cage all weekend.  As you can see in the pics, they each get a room (small but room to walk around) with a toddler bed in it.  Each room also has a doggy door that they can go into their own private yard whenever they want.

Bugsy hates water, but they do have an indoor pool that you can pay extra to give your dog play time in.

  • My friend does pet sitting in mechanicsburg so I'll ask her if she also travels farther or not. She has many pets herself and works at a vet office so she is very well trained for pet medical emergencies as well. In fact, maybe asking around at your vet office would be a good start too.
