Baby Shower Venue

I'm hosting DH's SIL's baby shower in May.

Re: Baby Shower Venue

  • I voted "Someone's house" because I think it lends to a more relaxed atmosphere and I wouldn't want my shower hostess(es) to feel obligated to spend a bunch of money paying for a restaurant.
  • I love hosting showers at my house so you know my answer ;)

  • I think having it at someone's home makes it feel more intimate.
  • Home or clubhouse, wh/ ever would have comfortable amount of room. Some homes are just not large enough for all the space needed for chairs, food table and ppl.

  • I voted restaurant because then no one had to prepare anything and servers take care of you :-)
  • I agree with Ragazza, I like having things at restaurants so someone else is making the food and cleaning up.  I like having pot lucks at my home but making all that food for people stresses me out, plus if you really break down the costs, it's usually about the same (depending on the restaurant of course).  But it can cost just as much buy all the food and papergoods and drinks at your house as a restaurant would.

That's a good point!  I was thinking home, but this makes sense.  So restaurant or potluck in a clubhouse

  • Thanks ladies, I'm gearing towards a clubhouse now and have a potluck. It'll be less cleaning. For restaurant, it would be great but doing games might be too awkward unless I get a private room.
