s/o nair -- razors, waxing or laser ?

now that Spring has sprung I''ll need to keep my legs smooth

...

I have always had a hard time finding and staying with a razor I really like.

...

so do you if you use a razor, wax or laser ---

what do you use ? how often ? how long does it last ?

( I am Italian, I have dark leg hair - it sucks )

Re: s/o nair -- razors, waxing or laser ?

  • i prefer men's razors - i've been using the gillette mach 3 turbo for years. i used a bunch of different women's razors and never liked them as much as the mach 3. i always use shave gel. i can usually get away with every other day. i wouldn't have the patience to grow it out long enough for waxing or laser though.

  • The laser is my friend.  Its expensive but soo worth it.  I am dark haired, fair skinned.  I have had only three treatments on my legs and only feel the need to shave every other day (as oppose to 1x/day) to have completely smooth legs.  My hair is MUCH lighter and finer making my legs smoother when I shave and making it easier to shave.  Shaving still a needed but its much less of a hassle now.

where did you go ? I've thought of laser for awhile - when you say your legs are you meaning your entire leg or just lower leg and just above the knee ? ( I always hear that laser packages are in portions of the body )

  • I use a men's razor too, the Shick Quattro. And I use "Shave Secret" shaving oil, its fabulous (http://www.amazon.com/SHAVE-SECRET-SHAVING-OIL-18-75ML/dp/B0023XF60Q). For summer time I really need to shave every day, it stinks.
  • I've been using the Epilady for about 8 years now. I'd say that I do my legs about every 3 weeks+ or so. Since it pulls the hair out by the root, I find that it grows back thinner, it's not as course, and it's definitely not prickly. So, even though some of the hair starts growing in during the 3 weeks, my legs are still soft and you can't really see the hair since it's so sparse (plus I don't have super dark hair). For the bikini line I use a combo of the Epilady and shaving and for the armpits I use a razor.

I went to BodySculpt NoVA in Tysons (I think the office is moving soon though)  I have done Brazilian, underarms and lower legs (defined as knee and below).  I have been thrilled with the results.

  • I use the women's Schick Quattro and shave gel.  In winter, I shave my legs once a week.  In summer, probably twice a week.  I have fairly light colored hair on my legs.

  • I use the Gillete Venus Breeze.  It has the shave gel bars next to the razor.  As I'm super lazy when it comes to shaving my legs, not having to put on shave gel gives me one less excuse.  I have light fine hair so even if I go a few days without shaving (ahem right now) it is barely noticable unless you touch them!
