Opinions on furniture for baby room

I had assumed that I would get a crib, a tall dresser and a long dresser for a changing table.

But in thinking about this, the room has a HUGE closet. It's the same size as the master bedroom's and it has a whole closet organizer thing in it. Do you think I need to get the tall dresser too? Or should I skip that and maybe get the expedit organizer from Ikea for that wall? We could eventually put toys and books in it. Here's a link:

 What do you think??

Re: Opinions on furniture for baby room

  • If your closet is big enough for clothes then I'd totally get something that can hold tots! Liza doesn't have tons, nut we still have no where to put them! I'm dreading what we will do with all her BD gifts! LOL :) I'm on my phone so I'll check out your link later.

  • Honestly, that sounds awesome!  I love the expedit - we have a big one in our office and it's super convenient.  And just FYI, standard sized file boxes fit in it too, not just the IKEA ones.
  • I have something similar in Dom's room, with a long bureau used as a changing table.  We bought our "expedit" from Target though, and have canvas bins in it for small toys, and I use some of the cubes for books too. Its a great idea!
  • We have that size in L's playroom and then we have the next size up in her room. I love them! We use hers for toys and books and whatever else  we have for her room.  We got the bins that we use at Target.

  • yup!  that's exactly what i would do!
  • Yup! We have the closetmaid (I think) ones from Target...2 of the 9 square ones in our playroom and 1 that is 8 squares in Lily's room...I like the one you linked, I would just make sure if you put it upright like that to make sure you secure it to the wall...
  • definitely skip the second dresser. I have crappy closet space and I still only have 3 drawers for Ben and only 2 for Maddy! It works! I use her bookshelf more than her dresser! But I hang everything except PJs and onesies and socks. Easier to find - if they are folded in piles things go unworn!
