BOY!!!!!!
I'm so beyond thrilled! I knew since week 7 it was a boy so I already have been calling him boy names and everything. Plus he will have 3 boy cousins 4 years or less older then him so I love that I get to throw another boy into the mix!
It feels SO good to know
Re: We're having a . . .
Congrats - how exciting!! So neat that he'll have cousins so close in age
How did you know it was a boy so early? Was the gender chart right?
Congrats again!!

Yay for you! I also want to know about the gender chart's accuracy for you.
Also, I'm curious about these boy names you've been calling him
as long as I am doing it right (age at conception: 28, month: December) then no it is wrong, it says girl.
I knew boy for 2 reasons: we conceived (aka had sex) the night before I was going to ovulate. They say you are more likely to conceive a boy if you have sex closer to ovulation and more likely for a girl if it is a couple days before. My friends with girls born recently both said they started having sex early in the week and did it every other day that week in order to conceive - I just did it the night before I thought I was going to ovulate and wham! pregnant! Poor H didn't get to have the 'fun' of lots of sex that week, it was a one time thing lol
other reason is the heartbeat was 126 at our 7 week ultrasound. Apparently boys will have lower heart rates then girls most of the time, boys under 150 and girls over 150. At our 12 week his heartbeat was 168! But I had just had OJ and he was moving around like a maniac so I attribute it being so much higher to that and still stuck with my boy prediction.
oh and names!
We are going with Owen Peter.
H picked Owen and it really grew on me
Peter is my dads name (also my brothers and H has a brother with this name also). I call him "Owey" sometimes lol but H calls him "O" and wants him to be a basketball player lol. If he has H's height he better play basketball but I'm on the short side so we shall see!
Great name! Peter is at the top of our list too (Dh had an Uncle Peter/Pedro - depends on which language his grandmother is in the mood to speak - who passed away before he was born).
Such a solid, classic name!
For the Chinese Chart, you have to use your Lunar Age. There's some website that will convert actual age to lunar age. And then the lunar month of conception. (Like March could be month 2 in the lunar year for instance).
And you're right about timing sex to pick the gender. TCOYF had a whole chapter devoted to that! Right before ovulation, or day of ovulation = boy. Earlier in the week = girls. It's because the boys are faster swimmers so they can beat out a girl. But if you have sex earlier in the week, it gives the girls time to get up there and twiddle their thumbs while they wait for an egg. By that point, the boys get impatient and give up. The girls are hardier so they can wait it out.
Congratulations on your baby boy!
Chinese Gender Chart is still wrong using lunar age, says girl.
Faith - Owen Peter is his name!
congratulations! so excited for you!
Duhhh.. If I would have scrolled down for a second, I wouldn't ahve asked something you already told haha. I do love the name though!
