Tired of my hair!

I'm having one of those mornings!  I have a hair appointment scheduled for today and I really wish I had the guts to do something different.  My hair is naturally curly so I can't cut it too short (unless I want to straighten it every day).  I've worked at growing it to about 7 inches past my shoulders and now I'm done with it being long.  I know I will go in there and come out with just getting a trim though.

There's really no point in this post!  lol  Do you stick to the same cut or do you like to switch it up?

Re: Tired of my hair!

  • I always say I'm going to grow mine and then every time I go to the salon I chop it back. I'd love to have long hair, but 7 inches past the shoulder gives you lots of room to work with. Maybe cut it just a few inches so you feel "different", but it's still past your shoulders.

  • Im pretty cyclic with my hair. I have naturally curly hair too. In sep/oct I get it cut drastically short. Like stacked in the back short. Its a nice change from nothing but pony tails all sept. I keep up with it at various different lengths through out the winter. Usually in Feb I get one more decent hair cut in and then after I let it grow out so that I can pull it up in the pony tail/ bun in the summer. I dont mind blow drying it in the winter when its cold in the house in the morning but I rarely do my hair in the summer unless its for a special occasion.

  • Karebear.... I might take a few inches off like you said so it at least feels a little different.

BMW...I hear you on the blow drying.  I feel like I'm going to have a heat stroke if I straighten my hair during the summer.

I really wish all the styles I like didn't take so much work!

  • Ofcourse Im going to tell you to donate it! (Ive been telling everyone) The feeling is amazing, and it will grow back. You need a minimum of 8 inches so it would be just off your shoulder. Would be totally new! And you would be helping a chemotherapy patient. =) Just a thought

:)  I've thought about that, but I think I'd need to grow it out a little longer before I could cut that much.  I've had my hair cut above my shoulders once before and I left the salon in tears.  My hair is layered quite a bit so I don't think they could get that much from anywhere except the back.  Do you know if they take hair that has been dyed?

  • Dyed but not bleached, no perms also. I thought I would be super uncomfortable with my hair this short, but it seems I dont even care, knowing what I did for someone else. Its never been this short before.

After our wedding I cut mine and  donated it. I don't remember how long it was but it was almost down to my waist! I also got a friend to donate hers before I donated mine =) She was happy with that. It really does grow back and just the thought of helping someone who really deserves the help makes it worth it!

But, my mom has your same problem, her hair is curly and there is not much she can do with it. I usually have mine long. I love long hair.

  • I like to switch mine up. I don't stick with the same style for long.
