A co-worker of mine who I am pretty close with was diagnosed with cancer about a year ago. That was in her stomach. A few months ago, she was told the cancer is gone, then she ended up finding out she needed surgery in her neck to make sure it wasn't there too. (it wasn't) And now, since I have come back from the honeymoon, she hasn't been to work. I knew something must be wrong and I was just told she has lung cancer. I am so upset. She told the other girl she spoke to for me to call her because she wants to hear about my wedding, but I feel like I am gonna start crying bad. My grandma died from Emphysema and never smoked. This woman never smoked either. This seriously upsets me. Sorry if you are a smoker, but I seriously hate when people smoke! I am buying DH the patch NOW because every time he tries to quit he starts again.
I am thinking of asking DH if we can go visit her this weekend. She lives close by his mom.
Re: T&P =(
I'm so sorry and sending her vibes. I used to always try to think of happy things that wouldn't make me cry when my dad was first diagnosed and all I wanted to do was cry when I was around him. There was someone he worked with that would cry whenever he went and for a while he stopped going so maybe think and speaking of your wedding and honeymoon will hopefully help you from crying.
I share your feelings about smokers and I think smoking is a selfish choice... get your H to STOP. People think they are 'invisible' and it won't happen to them but it does and it has torn my family apart. My father is not the same person as he was 15 months ago and it is devastating.
I think positive attitude goes a long way so hopefully she is keeping her head up.
So sorry about your friend. T&P's with her.
I quit smoking 3 1/2 years ago. I had no intention of quitting, I was just "trying" this new drug (Chantix) to shut up DH (my BF at the time) and my parents. But to my own surprise, it worked and I havent smoked in almost 4 years. Have DH TRY it, beg him. It will be the best thing he EVER does for himself and his family. GL

T&p's to your co-worker. That's so sad
I second the Chantix. I quit on that, and so did my Dad. He had been smoking 40 years.
im so sorry love! t&ps your way!
Hello. I've waited here for you. Everlong<3<br>
I cant even tell you how many times I tried the patch. Its crap. And I have a friend who has been hooked on the lozenges for 4 years. I also tried another pill once and it did nothing. It was an anti-depressant that had a side effect of quitting smoking. Crap. So when everyone was pushing me to this one, I thought the same thing, crap right? NOPE. It does something to make you not WANT to smoke. You can smoke while on it for 2 weeks, then you pick a "quit date". I figured perfect, I can keep smoking and just show everyone the stupid pills dont work. Well something happened and I stopped even before the 2 weeks was up.
Its not covered by insurance, but the best $100 I ever spent. I took 1/2 the dosage and only for 6 weeks. It makes you angry LOL, but it makes you quit.

Crap...not sure if that would be good for him. He had bad nightmares on this fake patch the army gave him, the last thing I need is him having bad war dreams.
