all i can say is that i'll be SO thankful when its the weekend. because i am absolutely not even a little bit thankful for being in work today or this week in general. it sucks.

I'm sure you have told this before, but do you mind if I ask where you work or what you do? It sounds like such a stressful job. I hope it gets better for you soon.
I am thankful that my 11 year old daughter feels comfortable talking to me about her thoughts and feelings. I think she is starting the beginning phases of puberty and her emotions are all over the place. We were up till midnight last night talking. I know when I was her age, I kept everything bottled up, and never talked to my mother about anything.
I work in the IT department in a major Property & Casualty Insurance company. 24/7 on-call duties and some major projects going on now that are killing me. They are also currently outsourcing our department so its a struggle day to day. I'm also coordinating a lot of the outsourcing training and things, so its a catch-22 for me. If this venture is not successful, then i lose my job due to not meeting my excepted results. If i make them successful, then i'll lose my job by being laid off b/c they'll be replacing me. It makes for QUITE the stressful life.

I am thankful that the weather is finally improving!
I am thankful that the weekend is coming and DH and I might finally get to spend some time together!

I'm thankful for my husband, who was born 34 years ago this upcoming Monday. I'm taking him up to Portland for the weekend as a surprise. Nothing really planned - just going up to walk around and pop in shops and eat some yummy food. Sunday I bought tickets to the Portland Sea Dogs (minor league baseball) game.
I'm thankful that the weather is going to be warmer this weekend - finally!
I'm thankful that I have this job, even though my responsibilities quadrupled, at least, in the past two weeks. And I am thankful that everyone within my department and outside of the department are really supportive so far. I saw two people yesterday I hadn't seen in a couple weeks, and they both said the normal "hi, how are you" small talk kind of thing, and then stopped and said "oh, yeah, how ARE you doing?"
And I am thankful for good friends and happy babies! We had some friends over for dinner last night, and one of them has a 7 month old. He was sooo good and just smiled & laughed most of the 3 hours they were over. All you have to do is look at him and he smiles!! And he just got teeth, he's adorable!!
ABSOLUTELY. There's just a limited market for my type of work, especially with most of it being outsourced across the board for a lot of companies.

Augh! I have been so MIA since I can't nest @ work., and don't have the time (or energy!) to do anything after I get home from my classes. Hope everyone is doing well!
I am thankful that guard is over! I get my Tuesday nights back (except that work took them for a bit...) and can actually SEE J during the week
I am thankful my baby sister made her HS cheer squad. I feel so old, but she is starting HS in the fall and has already accomplished so much, and I am so proud of her.
I am thankful my DH is a sweetheart. He got me roses today because he's been working a lot of overtime and feels bad not being home with his tired cranky pregnant wife. He is also taking me on a trip in May so we can spend some time together. What a guy!
I am thankful for DH who is cooking dinner right now.
I am thankful for my house and lovely neighborhood. I took a walk around it today and it is the first time I walked around my whole neighborhood.
I am thankful this week has gone by really fast!!!!
Its an all day festival tomorrow at the UIC Forum celebrating bacon- basically we'll be eating bacon all day long! Supposed to be more than 50 chefs/ restaurants (http://baconfestchicago.com/category/guest-chefs/chefs-2011) creating bacon dishes. Rumor has it there might be some bacon-themed drinks as well but I'm not so sure how I feel about that. I love bacon and all, but not in my drinks.

I looked it up yesterday, and the tickets are sold out (which is good, I need to prepare lectures all day anyway!) Michael Symon's Bar Symon (one of his 4 restaurants in Cleveland) has a bacon milkshake. I have not had it, but one of my nieces tried it and said the first sip was good, but then it was kinda gross after that!
