So proud of my baby girl!
We had Kennedy's Eval for early intervention services today. The evaluators were completely blown away by how well she's doing. She's average to above average in all areas for a normal baby. She said they just don't see babies with down syndrome doing the things that she's doing at this age. She's even doing things that are advanced for her age!
I'm sooo incredibly proud of her. We had great news at her cardio appointment yesterday as well. Two of the three issues that they expected to repair in surgery have resolved. The main issue still exists, and unfortunately there is no chance of it resolving on its own, but the surgery will not be as bad.

That must be such a relief with the heart issues. A little bit less to stress about. Have they determined when they're going to do the surgery yet?

Thanks ladies!! I will definitely try to bring her to the next GTG. Now that I'm allowed to let her sleep on her own schedule, life is a lot easier for us.
They will likely do the surgery at the end of June or beginning of July, as long as things continue in the way they are going now. They told us 4-6 months of age, and they like to do it earlier rather than later if they are strong enough, because it prevents lung damage from the heart failure. I just want it over, done with and behind us!
