***Marquis*** - NER

Sorry to post this on A08, but I know you'll see it here.

I'm in desperate need of an ear piercing.  On of my stupid ears closes up every single time I leave it unadorned for more than a couple days, and I need it repierced so that I can wear those nifty chandeliers that I bought to that wedding next week.  I know that you're supposed to leave the piercing in for six weeks, but a piercing artist friend of mine told me that if it's been pierced before, and if I made sure to clean the ear w/ antibacterial shampoo and douse the new earrings w/ alcohol before putting them in I should be fine.

Know of any piercing/tattoo salons on the UWS?  I refuse to have them done with a gun because (a) it's not very accurate, and (b) they can't thoroughly clean them, so those department store counters are out.

  • Sorry, I don't.  I have a couple friends who have gotten tattoos in the city though (but probably in the West Village).  I could ask where they got those done as they're still alive. :)

    Did you go to Town Shop??

  • No.

    ::grumble::

    Waited around for our new box springs to be delivered (FINALLY happened) and for our super to come remove our air conditioner so we don't freeze (still waiting).

    We soooooo need to move.  Our super is the least handy handyman I've ever met.

  • My friend just got back to me re where she got her tattoo:

    "NY Adorned in the East Village.  I totally recommend it!  They were nice and super clean and professional."

  • Thanks.  I'll try giving them a call.  :)

  • Nifty.

    Thanks a lot, Marquis.  They only charge $20 for the piercing (plus jewelry, of course), and the place gets rave reviews online.

    Looks like I'll be able to wear the pretty earrings after all. Wink
