First, I'd just like to say thank you to all you ladies who have been sending your prayers and thoughts toward our good friend. It means a ton. And I know you've been doing it, too. I know because it's working.
If you are friends with me on FB you might have noticed my posts the past few days and have perhaps been following in that way. Otherwise, I would like to update those of you kind enough to care about what is going on.
Steven and I have gone to the hospital multiple times each day so far this week. And to see BM today compared to his condition on Sunday is such a relief it brings tears to my eyes. Where Sunday, early afternoon, a man lay in the bed who could not even shift without crying for help; today, a mere 4 days later, the same man can almost roll onto his side without even a small dose of morphine. He can move his legs. On his own.
This is amazing. This is a miracle. He is recovering rapidly. Not to say he's completely better, by any means. But he has come a tremendous way in such a short amount of time. Today, he should begin PT by putting some weight on his right leg and pivoting a little. (This might be pushed back as he has some gas from the surgery still in his system, so he is getting nauseous off and on.)
If it wasn't clear to me before, it is loud and clear to me now. There
is a bright light at the end of this tunnel, and he is going to be just
fine.
Re: Update on BM.
AGREED! Such wonderful news! I am so glad that it is positive. We will keep thinking about him.
Thanks!!
We actually just found out he got moved to a real room - out of critical care, which is more great news. Thanks for that extra bump of t&p!
No problem, sweetie!
