Dublin/Pleasanton

My fiance &I are looking for ways to meet other couples our age(mid 20s). We're new to the area, just looking for some friends. Any suggestions?

Re: Dublin/Pleasanton

  •  We get this question quite a bit. I say;

    1) stick around and post here, and attend some GTG's, we're very nice ladies, and I have made some great friends on this board. :)  There are a couple people who live in your area who post as well.

    2) Also, maybe don't limit yourself to age ? I mean as long as someone is easy to talk to and you can find some sort common ground, why rule them out just because of age ?

    3) Also try meet up, take a class that you enjoy, find a church (if you go) walk your neighborhood, volunteer. I find making yourself a creature of habit helps to establish yourself in the community.

    4) patience. I'm just now starting to feel more comfortable and have more friends in my new area (after living here for 2 years now)  It won't happen overnight.

    Welcome !  :)

  • Is it safe to assume you are living in the Dublin/Pleasanton area?  If so, my husband and I do, too!!!  What sort of things do you or you and FI enjoy???

  • I'm totally open to all age groups, I know some wonderful people who are decades older than me &some younger ones as well. I'm just hoping to meet other couples our age simply for the fact that we would be going through the same stages of life together. I would never turn down a possible friendship because of age though.

     We're currently looking for a church around here that does saturday night services, like the one we went to in the valley. We're going to try one actually next saturday(we have plans this weekend).

    Thanks for all of the suggestions!

  • Yes, we do! We dont really do much lately because we're not really sure what there is to do in the area, but we're open to just about anything. We love bowling, I'm somewhat of a newbie (only been 5 times ever!), but I love it! We're huge beer connoisseurs! We looove trying new beers, infact this saturday we're going to the Bay Area Brewers Festival. We enjoy going out for a few beers and going out dancing. We also like to just stay home and play Monopoly sometimes:) We love music and finding new bands. We like a pretty wide range of music, but we're mostly into the different genre's of rock, of course those damn catchy radio hip hop and pop artists will always have a place in my heart. Sometimes its just too catchy not to love! The only thing we're not all that keen on is country.

    What about you guys?
