Bridal Shower gift q

So in March I was invited to a shower for the fiance of a high school friend of MH's.

They aren't super close, but we're going to their wedding, and I probably should get her a shower gift, even though I didn't go to the shower.

My question is...I barely know this chicky...I have met her 2, maybe 3 times.

Is spending 20 dollars OK? I usually am willing to spend $$ on friends of mine/close friends (over 50-100), but I barely know her. It's the thought, right?

Please validate me so I don't have to spend an arm and a leg.

I definitely wouldn't spend big bucks on someone I barely know. I'd pick something in the $20-25 range off their registry and call it good.

Yup - I'd do the same thing. I'm all for spending money on a great gift when my close friends/family are involved, but for someone I barely know? Just get something small and call it even.
