Our tech team has launched updates to The Nest today. As a result of these updates, members of the Nest Community will need to change their password in order to continue participating in the community. In addition, The Nest community member's avatars will be replaced with generic default avatars. If you wish to revert to your original avatar, you will need to re-upload it via The Nest.

O - my - goodness!!!
So, apparently I clicked on a link or video that caused a virus to infect my computer at work yesterday. I about had a freakin' cow!!!!
If you haven't experienced it, let me tell you - that is one of the sickest feelings in the world - when your WORK computer won't allow you to do anything,and this message keeps popping up every time you try to shut down and restart...man! I didn't know if I had damaged files, lost anything or what...
So, after wiping off the cold sweat I broke out in, I bit the bullet, called IT and 30 minutes later, I was up and running - but they did locate spyware, trojan horse viruses that somehow got past our security...the scary thing was that these infected files looked like the other files that did belong on my computer!
Phew!! I can't begin to imagine the embarrassment of having to explain any lost or damaged files to my VP - especially since I'm pretty sure whatever I clicked on to cause the virus wasn't work related 
IT was cool (and amazingly non-judgemental or accusatory) and it would appear that all's well that end's well. But to be on the safe side, let's just say I won't be opening or clicking on anything else from my work computer...((letting out big breath))!!

That is without a doubt a terrifying feeling! I had one pop up on my home computer the other day and I almost lost it. Luckily we were able to get rid of it.

Mel - no, I don't think so...I was doing a google search a few minutes before it happened, so I think more than likely I clicked on a bad link. Needless to say, there will be no more google searches while at work! If necessary, I'll hop on my droid or my nookcolor to search :-)
