My purse and its insides

Sorry this is late!

#1 is my "weekend" purse.  The long strap is removable, but really convienent to wear the bag crossbody for things like grocery shopping.  I bought it at the Coach outlet in Dec 2009 for $120 (marked down from $350!).

#2 is my "work" bag.  It's a Longchamp and the most I've ever spent on a purse ($150ish).  It is huge, so it's perfect for my walking/train commute to work since it can fit my lunch, work shoes, and misc items.  I bought it in Spring 2008 when I started commuting for an internship that summer.  It's definitely worn (little holes in 2 bottom corners), but not enough for me to replace it.

Typical "load" on any given workday image

Stuff Pic #1:

1. Fiber one bar (I always carry some kind of snack/granola bar)

2. Mittens

3. Wine cork (we collect these)

4. Purse holder

5. Pens

6. My public transit card

7. Starbucks card

8/9. Cards to get into my work

Stuff Pic #2:

1. Container from lunch

2. Camera

3. Wallet

4. Lotion

5. Mini-lotion

6. Chapstick

7. Book I'm reading (well struggling to read)

8. Daily free newspaper.  (I do the crossword and Suduko on the way home everyday; I have yet to solve an entire crossword :O(

9. Bag of kleenex

10. Bag of liners/tampons

And that's about it....although I am going to be an AW and show you my next purse that I'm buying myself for my bday.

I've actually been saving for this for 2.5 years now.  So my best friend from college has 2 sisters and in her family when one of the girls turns 25 their parents buy them a designer bag as a "now you're old enough to be responsible with this" kind of gift.  So bf's sister got a LV Speedy Size 25 when she turned 25 and I thought it was such an awesome idea that I'd do it for myself (my parents don't approve of spending that kind of money on things like a purse) and I've been saving a little every month since. (ALthough I've actually decided to get the Size 30 because it's only $20 more and is a better/more practical size for me and what I carry)

As you may remember my sis and parents are in Paris right now and with the conversion rates the purse is about $200 cheaper there than it'd be for me to buy in Chicago.  My mom thought I was nuts when I asked if they'd be willing to buy it for me in Paris and I said "I'm planning on buying it one way or another, so will you please help me out so I can save a little on it".  And they said yes, so shortly I'll be getting my Speedy!

Oh and another thing, you may recall that DH (really MIL) picked out a David Yurman heart necklace for my wedding gift that just wasn't my style.  We returned it and the money from that is going towards the purse.  So it's 1/2 wedding gift, and 1/2 bday gift to myself :O)

Haha I love the inside shot of your purse too. Makes me feel better.Of course once again with the white purse, I don't know how you guys do it.

I bought myself a bangin purse when I turned 25 (I never knew that was a "thing"). Figured I owed it to myself. For 425 I got a coach purse and the matching wallet. And hey at least you're being reasonable and having your mom save ya some money on the LV out in France. Good call.

  • Lol, I'm glad you like the inside shot.  With everything laid out on the counter, it gives the false idea that my purse is organized, which it's not in any way, shape or form
