The AAJs in my division just held a meeting, it's from the top down. A friend of mine eavesdropped ;-)
Re: No work Monday
Thanks for the heads up. We have a meeting at 11.
ETA: our manager didn't say anything about Monday. He just gave us the number to call on Monday morning.
ooh wait our supervisor just said that there may be work if no shutdown (obviously.)
but the implication is clearly that there will be a shutdown.
We were told to take all our food out of the fridge and to take our plants home.
Now its serious
by 3 different people no less.
LOL it's worth it then if people get that smelly stuff out of the fridge!
Still waiting for the official word here, but our union sent us a note saying that we all have to report on Monday becasue they have until 1:30 to shut down the office...
Did you know we can be fined if we log into our e-mail remotely during a shutdown? I set up a G-mail account and have been forwarding myself my emergency contact lists, etc.
I also put an out of office message on my e-mail on to start at 5 pm tonight.
As of right now (because everything keeps changing), I am to report to work Monday regardless. Then we'll get direction as to what we should do. WTF? Thankfully I live close, but some of my coworkers commute from PA and DE. I'd be livid if I were them!
Weezie ~ I read an email early in the week informing people to shut down their BlackBerry upon leaving work on Friday. Otherwise, they will be fined, for reading or sending email!
I think some of my co-workers are going to have a hard time giving up the crack-berry!
My husband needs to take time off work on Monday to take DD to her physical therapy appointment, since my previously approved leave has been cancelled. You know, so that I can show up to be told I am "non-essential" and sent home Awesome.
Here is what we were told by our union... (Our leadership hasn't said anything eaither.)
In the event of a furlough everyone must report for duty on Monday morning. All previously scheduled leave is cancelled. All episodic flexiplace is cancelled. If you have an Alternate Duty Station, you must report to your ADS at your normal time.
On Monday morning all employees will be notified of their status (essential or non-essential). The agency will have 4 hours to facilitate an orderly shut down of operations. All non-essential staff must leave the premises no later than 1:30 pm. (The latest allowable arrival time at my work is 9:30.) Essential staff must stay and work.
I hope that helps!
