XP from GP Moms

I'll start off by saying that everything is okay with both LO and I, and I'm home. Yesterday evening, I noticed she wasn't moving as much as she usually does. I didn't worry about it too much, but decided to do kick counts for my own peace of mind. Two hours later and two ice cold glasses of water and she still wasn't moving much. I counted about 8 movements in that time span which is unusual considering that's when she's most active.

I should also mention that I was having a sharp pain in my lower abdomen and could barely walk without doubling over from it. It was coming and going, but I figured the two things might be related. I called Labor and Delivery and the nurse told me to go in.

As soon as we got there they started monitoring us. After a short time, the nurse confirmed baby wasn't moving but could be asleep. I drank some juice, the nurse tried to wake her up by moving my stomach, I turned on my side and still no movement. After another 15 to 20 minutes she started moving more and more. The OB did an u/s and said it looks like my fluid is on the low side of normal which may explain the reduction in movement and she was going to have my OB recheck it at my appointment on Tuesday.

Apparently, I'm also having contractions but since I don't feel them, I asked her not to check my cervix for dilation which the nurse said the OB would do.

I'm taking the day off work today and resting. Depending on how my appointment goes, next week may be my last week of work after all.

  • That's so scary Haydee! I'm so glad you and Olivia are ok. Take it easy today.

Sending you vibes for your next appointment. Keep us updated.

Also - did you ever find a labor buddy? I know you said you wanted someone in your time zone but didn't hear anything more than that. I'd happily volunteer if you don't have one, I'm an hour ahead of you.

She's already been told to stay put for at least a week and a half.

MO that is so sweet, I appreciate C's prayers.

Thank you ladies for your words and support. It means a lot, as always.
