    Any birthday plans?

Nope. I stupidly relied on DH, and I love him so much, but he sucks at planning things like this. I should know better by now. He's really, really good at the everyday (the important) stuff, but special occasions, not so much.

What was the best birthday present you ever got?

Oooh, that's a tough one. Memory doesn't serve well right now, so I'll go with the more recent past, which was my camera, kind of. The birthday cash I got was enough to pull the trigger.

    Worst present?

It's not really bad, but it makes me laugh. My dad always visits around my birthday, and inevitably there's something in the house that isn't up to his standards so he gets me that as a birthday present. One year it was a coffee maker, and I don't drink coffee.  Another year was a toaster, and this year, some parts for a toilet. Lucky me!

LOL, I could say the same to you, even though it has been a loooong time since I've seen your little girl. But I guess I must've done something right. I'll never forget seeing her dark mop of black, curly hair the moment she was born and thinking "she's mine? really?"

    Happy Birthday!

If I recall correctly, you do some kind of marketing - what do you do? I'm an editor in the marketing department of an engineering company. I put together proposals to help us get work (please, DOT!), and I help write/create other types of marketing materials.

How long have you been scrapbooking? Since 2001. I took a long break somewhere in there, but I've been pretty steady since about 2006. Pretty paper + writing + photography = perfect hobby for me.

What are some other hobbies? Does TV count, lol? I've been trying to learn photography, and I like to read. I love to travel, but there's not much of that on the horizon right now. But we'll get back out there.

What is your favorite "hidden gem" in the Tampa Palms vacinity?  (can you tell I'm looking for places to explore?) Hmmm. Have you been to River Park? It's way too outdoorsy for me (I'm an indoor girl), but it is pretty cool and definitely hidden.

LOL @ toilet parts. Smile Sounds like he's a practical kind of guy.

Has anyone ever given you some valuable words of wisdom that have stuck with you?

Ok, so if you planned your own perfect birthday, how would it go?

    Happy Birthday Party!!!

    Thank you :-)

Where is your fav place to shop for DD? I'm a Crazy8 fanatic (they totally get me with that spend $40 today, get coupon for $20 off next time thing), but I adore baby gap clothes. I'm just not willing to spend more on her clothes than mine Stick out tongue (That's totally a lie. I'll do it if I have to.)

Favorite guilty pleasure? Hmmm...I have a lot, mostly TV related. General Hospital will have to be the favorite, I suppose. I know it's mind-numbingly stupid, and the show is really pretty sexist (they tend to destroy their female characters) but I watch it anyway. Sometimes it's good to just let your mind be numbed, right?

Has anyone ever given you some valuable words of wisdom that have stuck with you? Oh definitely, probably a lot if I sat here and tried to really think of it. The one that's been on my mind lately is a friend who talked me through a tough break-up, and he talked a lot about how we often idealize the past and we get overwhelmed/anxious about the future, so it's best to stay in the present. I find this to be esp. true about being a mother.

Ok, so if you planned your own perfect birthday, how would it go?

I'm thinking vineyards in Tuscany. A little more realistic? Maybe a morning to myself for sleeping in followed by mani/pedi and lunch with friends, dinner and cake with DH and Lily.  I definitely wouldn't be at work!

    Happy birthday! Thank you :)

    1. Favorite hobby --Tough to choose between photography and scrapbooking. I'm better at scrapbooking than photography, but photography is far more challenging and interesting. But also more expensive. By a lot.

    2. Song you sing at the top of your lungs in your car with the windows up? --Oh things that would be awful if you accidentally overheard me. Lately it's been "Defying Gravity" the Glee version. I listen on my ipod with the volume high enough so that I don't even have to hear myself.

Happy Birthday, k8! :)Thank you :-)

How many books do you read each year? Not very many. I used to be a bookaholic, then I went to college and it wasn't so fun anymore. I've only recently started to get back into reading in a bigger way. I'd say maybe 2 a month? Unless it's a Diana Gabaldon beast. Then just the one, if I even finish in a month. Sad, I know.

Has a song ever made you cry? Which one? Oh geez, there are 100s of songs that make me cry. We'll have to go with most recent, and that would be "World" by Five for Fighting.

If DD was a boy, what would have been his name? Nicholas Scott. Scott is a family name just as Anna is (Lily's middle name).

Did you have a 2nd runner up girl's name picked out? No, not really. We started on Sophia, then went to Makenna, then Lily. Once we chose Lily, we knew it was for sure.
