i wanted to thank you for recommending i. gorman in a post last month. i have my grandmother's wedding ring (which belonged to her grandmother) which lost a diamond and the band broke. they were able to repair it for a reasonable price and it looks even better than it did before. their staff is fantastic. when i'm in the market for some jewelry i will definitely go back to do some shopping! and i'm so happy to be able to wear the ring again
Re: **mtropp**
Yay, I'm glad you liked them and had a positive experience and can now wear the ring again! My DH visited several jewelers when he was looking for my engagement ring and thought i. gorman had the best service. We have recommended them to so many people and everyone has been happy...I only wish I got a commision on all the jewelery others have bought there!
I had my grandmothers wedding band as well, which was missing a diamond and was broken. Instead of getting it fixed, I took four of the diamonds and used them for my wedding band (which i. gorman designed) and then made a necklace for my mom with the other diamonds (which she lost...but that's a different story).
Did you get some free champagne?
your mom lost the necklace you had made for her? boo mom!!!
i also have my grandmother's engagement ring and i am thinking i'd like to do something with that someday so i'll definitely go there if i decide to redesign it somehow. i was offered free champagne when i dropped the ring but skipped it for some reason (clearly, i was not thinking!).
thanks again for the rec
The only times I really go back now is to get my ring cleaned, so I feel a little guilty getting the champagne!
Yeah, my mom lost the necklace like 2 days after we gave it to her (it was my wedding weekend actually)...she was pretty devestated. In her defense, I do remember thinking the clasp was a little difficult to use, but whatever. She did end up getting another one made to replace it. See if I ever buy her something nice again!
