What's been the best and worst parts about being a mom?

The best part about being a Mom is watching him discover the world...simple things are so amazing and intriguing. The hardest or worst...I'd have to say that feeling that it is never enough...call it Mommy guilt, but that feeling that you could always be doing something more for him, to protect him, etc. Oh, and the balance of so many roles...mom, wife, me, daughter, employee, etc....but I was never good at that before being a mom.
My favorite flower used to be cala lillies, but honestly I don't know anymore...I just love flowers.
The sn was an ae I set up when I got my bfp...my old sn is my first name and maiden name and I started to get worried about what might be popping up in google searches and such so I just kept using this one.

Before we had H, I figured it would, but never as much as it has. Sharing in this experience has brought us even closer together. I love him more seeing him as a Dad and seeing my DH in H. It has helped us to communicate more because it isn't just him and I anymore (like it was for 7 years prior). On the flip side, our priorities have changed, so a lot of the spontaneous stuff we would do has dwindled and I miss that...those weekend trips or just staying in bed all day on the weekends. Finding a balance between being a couple and being parents is something we definitely try to make a conscious effort on, but it isn't easy.
hmmm....a winning lottery ticket? Since we in the process of buying a house and money is not object, I'll say a house (totally paid for of course!).

Finally got to check out the board...sick kiddo at home makes for zero nest time.
Anywhere? I love Maui, but don't know if I could do the island thing. I'd probably stay in Northern California because I enjoy being close to my family....but I'd definitely have a hotel suite ready in many different locations.
My dream career? Hmmm...French fry taste tester?
I'd like to write novels or own a yarn shop.

How bad did childbirth hurt? Well, I had a c-section...so the "hurts" were different. Recovering actually wasn't that bad. I think the adrenaline does wonders for healing. Oh, and the drugs.
I'm finishing up the last of the Harper Connolly mysteries and then I decided I'm going to really give The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo a try. I've started it before and couldn't get into it....so I'm going to go for it again because recently a lot of people have told me you have to get past the first 100 pages and then you'll get hooked. So, it is sitting on my night stand right now waiting for me.
I also added a whole bunch of other good recs to my hold list at the library.
And of course....the new Sookie will be out the first week of May!!!!!

He's still sick! Poor little man just wants to cuddle and sleep. Day 5 of fevers, an ear infection and now conjunctivitis (sp?).
I think this is the hardest part of parenting...when you really feel helpless. I'm just letting everything else wait and am making sure he's got somebody to love on him at all times. The housework and such will wait.
