Also a house update
Last week we saw and put in an offer on another house. I'm losing track but this could be offer number 5. Anyway, the bank countered our offer, we replied with a counter only 2K more than our initial offer and the bank accepted our counter offer this week. We signed the paperwork yesterday and should be opening escrow today.
I'm a little taken aback by how fast this has all moved. The house needs some work and the city we're moving to is notorious for their permit fees. We already found out we're going to be paying around $2,300 in permits, mostly to tear down the illegal patio deck and storage the previous owners built.
Overall we're excited because it's in a neighborhood we like and close to pretty much everything. The house itself has everything we wanted and a nice size yard. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that things go as smooth as can be expected and that in a month we'll be homeowners.
