How to wash a knitted blanket?
Our landlords knitted Scarlett a beautiful blanket and matching hat. Unfortunately, it smells like their house - with dog pee and all. I'd like to wash the blanket so she can use it but I'm not sure how. Can I wash it in the washing machine? Would it be better hand-washed? If I can wash it in the washing machine, can I also put it in the dryer?
Thanks in advance!
Re: How to wash a knitted blanket?
That's tough when you don't know what type of yarn was used. I would probably wash it in cold water, and let it air dry.
Or have it dry cleaned!
I would put it through the wash on a lukewarm setting and air dry. In theory you could tumble dry it on low if you really want to try it.
