any middle school teachers out there?
I am considering putting in for a transfer to a middle school to teach 7th grade reading and do grades 6 and 7 reading support. I have worked with grades K-6 but never 7th. And I have never worked in a middle school.
What do you like about teaching in a middle school?
What do you hate about it?
Thanks for sharing!
Re: any middle school teachers out there?
I've taught MS (mostly 8th but a little 7th) for 11 years. I love it and wouldn't teach in any other division. I love the kids...they are fun and energetic and not jaded in the way some high school kids are. They'll do stupid skits and songs and activities in class that older kids would roll their eyes at. But they are also growing into themselves and it's cool to be a part of that process with them.
I don't love how overly dramatic they can be and how mean they can be to each other. parents can be hard too.
