Dress me for a wedding
DH and I are going to a wedding at the end of this month at http://www.pebblehill.com/ in Thomasville, GA. It's at 5:30 & I believe outside near their carriage/stable/barn complex. I was thinking about wearing this:
It's kind of a rough flowy cotten material so i thought it would be a good multi purpose dress that could be dressed up or down. In person it's bit brighter. Kind of a plum color. 1) Do you think it's appropriate (I'm short, it comes just above my knee) 2) What color shoes? I have black strappy or silver peep toe 3) What jewelry? I have pretty dangly silver earrings...should I do that and no necklace?

I love the dress... I have a similar one in slate grey color. I'd bring a black cardigan or shawl to wear with it. I'd go with black strappy heels & sorry, but I suck with jewelry.
I know you didn't list this as an option but I would go with gold accessories.
I have gold sparkle peep toe pump shoes and chandelier gold earrings that would be perfect, in fact, I wear them with a dark plum dress I currently have.
If you don't like that, I would do silver shoes with peacock colored accessories, Like some other nice jewel tones would be beautiful with the purple. I tend to be bold in my style choices.
I was thinking about the gold b/c of the model. I was also thinking about having fun and adding some color with the jewelry since the dress is a pretty jewel toned color. Another excuse to do a little shopping!

I agree that it would look nice with gold jewelry.
It's at Express. They have this color & white.
I'm personally not a big fan of strappy shoes in general, so I'd say the pumps but I also like the gold with the dress.
If you're shopping anyway... I just bought these to wear to a wedding and they were surprisingly comfortable. I'd wear those with gold jewelry similar to the picture in OP. (Which my cheapass would totally get at Claire's.)
