DH and I ordered some wallpaper from a local store about three and a half weeks ago, and set aside this weekend to do the papering. However, the weekend was looming and no phone call to say it was in.
So I call them, and they tell me it is on backorder and won't be in until late May!! Would have been nice if they had called to tell me.
Anyway, DH suggest he will drive 2 hours to Sydney and get some, I don't want him to go alone, so we both take the afternoon off work Friday for a nice drive down. Turns out....DH didn't actually have the Address of the store, and traffic is bad, and we don't make it there in time. I am a bit furious we would drive all that way without checking the address, but, we are still Desperate to get wallpaper, and wallpaper the lounge this weekend (we want to put the house up for sale in a couple of weeks), so at 6pm we book ourselves into a cheap hotel, get some Burger King for dinner and settle in for the night. No change of clothes, no toothbrush, barely any money. It was like my version of camping!
This morning we were up at the crack of dawn (because the curtains weren't very good and the room was so bright), got some breakfast from the conveniance store downstairs and back to the correct wallpaper store.
9.05am, we have it in the car and are heading 2.5 hours to home, and clean teeth. Phew, what a mission!!
