clothes smell burnt out of dryer?
I swear my clothes smell burnt when I take them out of the dryer. they just don't smell good at all. it's a weird smell to describe. I don't use dryer sheets, fabric softener or scented laundry detergent in general and have never had this problem before. any ideas? is there a way to clean/freshen the dryer?
Re: clothes smell burnt out of dryer?
Our dryer had a burnt smell about it. We unplugged it and removed the back plate and carefully vacuumed it out and cleaned out the exhaust tubing. We replaced the lint trap screen thing because it turned out there was a tear in the bottom that was allowing lint through into the actual dryer.
Once we did that, the smell went away completely.
When was the last time you cleaned out the vents? I'm not just talking about the lint trap, but I mean pulling the dryer out from the wall and vacuuming out the ducts.
I find our dryer smells like this when I use the highest setting. Our vents have all been cleaned, etc....so I just use the medium temperature setting for most loads.
