I'm being a postwhore today. We're hosting Easter dinner since my parents will be here for my shower. Definitely having a ham. What else should I do? So far MIL said she'd bring deviled eggs....which means I basically need to do everything.
Re: Easter dinner
Corn (DH's family does creamed corn), mashed potatoes...DH's family always has some sort of "salad"...pistachio salad, strawberry jello pretzel "salad", etc. Relish tray...
MIL is really trying hard with doing the deviled eggs, huh?
ETA: Do whatever your pregnant little heart desires. "We have ham...pizza...brownies...wyngz...cheesecake..."
WYNGZ!!!!!!
I like baked beans with ham. Or black eyed peas and cornbread. But maybe I'm just saying that because I was just on the phone with my mom, she's menu planning, and will be making black eyed peas and cornbread one night this week.
I was actually thinking some kind of roasted veggie (asparagus or green beans sound the best right now) and rolls. Corn sounds good too. What about a corn casserole or something?
And everyone else's talk about Southern foods has made me want fried okra. Thanks.
Oh, rolls, you definitely have to have rolls. Giant, fluffy, yeasty chewy goodness rolls.
I cannot WAIT for Easter dinner now!
