I finally have a blog and my dr update

Blog: www.mywishisalovestory.blogspot.com

I'll explain how I came up with the name on my first blog.  Also, there is nothing there at the moment but I'll be blogging tonight and setting it up.

Now, onto the doctor part.  The bad news: We are dealing with female AND male infertility.  DH's morphology is low.  I'll also explain all of this in my blog in detail.

The game plan:

Provera to induce AF as usual.  Clomid at 100mg (I did 50 last time).  Vag cam on day 13.  I will have to do a trigger shot and an IUI.

Basically, because we both have issues, IUI is our best bet.  There's not really much hope for conceiving naturally. There was a lot of information.  I cried the whole way back to work.

I'm sad because DH's sister and fam left today and then all of this.  She dealt with some of the same issues and she called me from the plane before they took off to see how it went.  I just wanted to come home and talk to her all about it but I can't.

So, 2 big emotional things today.

Oh, and I can no longer eat bad carbs and have to exercise daily to help things out.  I have insulin resistance as well which means at some point, they may give me diabetic med's to help even though I don't need them to regulate my sugar's and am not diabetic.

It's a lot....

Re: I finally have a blog and my dr update

  • I'm so sorry you are dealing with all of this at once.  I wish there was something I could do to help you!

Lots of prayers coming your way that you will get through all of this.

  • Oh Ashley....  I'm sad for you.

However, it sounds like your new RE is really good and is supportive.

I was on 100mg Clomid and it wasn't too bad so hopefully it won't be much worse than the 50mg Clomid.   Hopefully, your DH is very supportive.  I have found that supportive DH's are one of the best ways to get through things on a daily basis.  (Was he able to go to the appt with you?) The very best way, of course, is to trust in God's plan...  He's got it all worked out.  Also, it sounds like your RE is giving you the best hope possible.  You won't be just going through cycles of Provera and Clomid and hoping.  You have a great chance now.

    1. Thank you for being honest and optimistic.  Sometimes it's hard to do that.

    2. Yes, DH was able to come - THANK GOD!

    3. I'm just trying to cope right now.  DH and I are going to sit down and talk about the financial aspect of everything.  The IUI alone is $400 (insurance doesn't cover anything).  Then you have rx's and sonograms ($125 each).  It gets pricey!

    4. I do feel like we have a better chance now with our RE!

  • I'll be in Texas in May for a long weekend. I'm thinking we need to meet up for drinks.

I know this is a lot to take in at once, but I'm glad there's a plan and you have answers. I'm keeping you guys in my thoughts - let us know if we can do ANYTHING for you. *hugs*

  • I can't begin to imagine what you're going through. I do think, though, that information can only lead to solutions. I really believe it'll happen for you.

This. I'm so sorry you're going through this. I feel like the best plan of action is to have the knowledge of the situation and to actually have a plan. Sounds like your new RE is very supportive and knows what he's talking about. Good luck Ash, we're here for you!

  • Thank you everyone.  It really means the world to me to have you all even if I don't know you all in person.  It doesn't feel like I've never met any of you in person :)  Having your support is what I need right now.  I'll keep everyone updated in my blog.  I would say I'll accept butterfinger's and Reese's pieces except those are bad carbs which I can't eat :(

  • Ashley, I'm so sorry you're going through this, I really hope that the RE can find a plan that works for you.

  • So not what we wanted you to hear, but as always, you're in my prayers. I think my sis's friend was given diabetic ness even though she wasn't to help her ttc and she has 1 kids now. I'll try to find out more info about this and email you. ((hugs))

This! Your new RE sounds awesome though! Although not easy, at least you have what sounds like a great plan and I truly believe you guys will be successful and will have a beautiful LO!
