RE Update - kinda long

First off, I love this Dr! She was really nice and explained all our options and wrote everything out step by step. She talked to us about our situation and really took time to make sure we understood everything. We were there for an hour and a half!

Since I got a positive OPK last night and DH and I tried some baby makin' last night she did a mucus test on me, and said she was happy with it on my end, but didn't like the amount of sperm and how they were moving. So DH has to do a sperm analysis next week and I have to go back for all kinds of blood work next Wednesday, partly to check my progesterone levels and she was concerned about my family medical history of diabetes. So I'll be getting the full work up. Then, depending on the results of those 2 test, she will call us back and either set up an xray to see if I have an blockages in my tubes or I will wait for day 1 of my cycle and give her a call and I will either go on clomid again or clomid + glucofage, or FSH shots. So now I just have to get all this testing done and see how that turns out.

DH was kinda upset when we left about the whole sperm thing. We had to wait 6 months before we could start trying originally because he had to be clear of all his rheumatoid arthritis meds, one of which can cause sterility in men. So that's all he kept saying that this was all his fault, which only got me upset. I just kept telling him that we have to stay positive and that we already know I have issues with ovulation, so with our great luck, it's probably both of us screwing with our odds right now.

so that's all for now...sorry this was so long....

  • I'm glad to hear that you like your doctor!!!  If you have any questions about any of these tests, let me know....I've either been through them or know girls on GP who have.  :)

And I think your H's reaction is a pretty normal one.  The good news, though, is that it's often a problem that can be fixed with various treatments.  I hope that you get some answers with your testing and that it results in a BFP for you guys soon!!
