American Idol results (spoilers)
Sooo... I'm not a HUGE idol fan, but I do watch it occasionally. Pia being voted off was pretty shocking to me. I think she was pretty good. I really am surprised she got voted off before some of the others... I wonder why and how that happened.
I also think that the judges "save" was used way too early on Casey and I think that may have been going through their heads as they watched Pia's farewell wishing they could have saved her instead.
What are your thoughts?

Yeah. That could be. I guess I was sorta surprised, too because Pia was one of the "hottest" ones on the show. Usually looks will keep a girl on sometimes longer than her voice can. heh.
Based on the publicity, she'll prob go on to cut a record regardless of AI placement.
I rarely watch it but I would not be surprised if was better off this way. Sometimes those who get voted off early some how make it. The winners never seem to make it long term. The only was ones that stand out are Kelly Clarkson and Carrie Underwood. I know Taylor Swift was on AI but I can not remember if she was finalist or not.
I was a big fan but I am getting tired of the contestants with no talent getting all the votes.
I agree that the teenage girls are voting for the boys. I don't get why Scotty or Casey are still on the show. I don't like Haley either, she just irritates me.
I just learned this morning that Pia was voted off. I was so shocked because she was the most talented one on the show. I definately thought it was going to come down to her and James from Santa Cruz.
I don't even want to watch the show anymore.
I like how DWTS has the judge's votes count for half the vote and the viewers get the other half. That seems more fair, imo.
Yeah, that sounds like a better system.
I believe you are also limited on votes too. At least, online you can only have however many votes per number of contestants left on the show. (Texting results may be unlimited though.)
I was surprised too, I really liked Pia but DH says the same thing that it's mostly girls voting for boys.
I differ on Scotty. I think he is probably going to be one of the finalists, if not the winner. Most of this country loves country and he is a really good country singer. I even like him and I don't like country.
I also agree that it is better NOT to win but to come in second or third. Jennifer Hudson also did not win and neither did Chris Daughtry.
Actually Taylor Swift was never on American Idol. Elly Clarkson and Underwood both were the final winners for their year. There are not many that get cut early that really make it far . . . chris daughtry is the main one that I can think of that really made it big after getting cut at the #4 spot.

I think you might be thinking of Kelly Pickler and not Taylor Swift? (sp?)

Probably she did mean Pickler, who I guess I don't consider that big, though she did do a lot better than most contestants voted off when she did, and definitely much better than Hicks, who won that year.

Not only that, not a single male has been voted off yet. It's really getting ridiculous!
