"IUD Insertion on Monday" Update
You ladies were so sweet with your advice and comments. So I am giving a little update if your interested.
The following Monday after posting I went to get the Paragard IUD inserted. The doctor did my annual exam first and saw that I had a tiny yeast infection. So I get prescribed an antibiotic for two weeks then come back.
Two weeks later.. She tries to insert the IUD into my cervix, but my cervix will not open up. She then gives me a pill that is supposed to help dilate the cervix enough to insert the IUD. An hour later she tries to insert again and my cervix was just not having it.
Needless to say I did not get the IUD put in which made me very disappointed. I wanted a hormones free birth control method. I have been on several other pills and they have made me have terrible mood swings.
She prescribed me to prescribed me progestin only birth control pills, Nora-Be. Hopefully these pills do not make me crazy or gain weight.
ETA: I have not had any kids.
Re: "IUD Insertion on Monday" Update
I don't know if I read your previous post, but were you told about Fertility Awareness Method and the book Taking Charge of Your Fertility?
BC pills are useless to me because of other medication I take so H and I use FAM and condoms. If Nora-Be doesn't work it might be something to think about.
GL, I hope this works for you.
I wouldnt recommend getting one anyway. i had one and it gave me huge cyst and a tumor, i cramped all the time and i was, well not a happy person. i only know one person that has been 100% happy with theirs and shes had two kids. and an abnormally large uterus.
This. FAM has been great for me and DH! I felt horrible on hormonal birth control (nuva ring) and FAM has been great for getting to know my own body and cycles. I definitely recommend it -- check out the book!
