  My haircuts cost about $40-50 and I always seem to tip $10, so that's my flat rate. I feel like with all the work she has to put into blow drying and taming my crazy hair, $10 is a good amount.

  Ditto Lauren.  Although, sometimes she gives me a discount, and I end up paying what I normally would with tip.  For example, at my last cut, she took $10 off the price.  Instead of paying $55 with tip, I should have paid $45 with tip.  But I paid $55 anyways, as a thank you.  I feel like she always hears what I have to say, talks to me at great length about those concerns, and is truly vested in making my hair look fabulous on a daily basis.

  Okay, so if it is $50, your tip is $10 if you tip 20%, and a little more if your bill is only $40.  I guess that I am about right.  It just seems like not enough cause my cuts are so cheap.
