next question...priceline
anyone ever used it for airfare...how do you name your own price? seriously?? It doesn't show you much until you enter payment information...is it for real????
Re: next question...priceline
Maybe it was because we booked it last minute (booked Mon to leave on Thurs that week)... but we booked it like any other flight. It showed us departure times with prices, and we just picked the cheapest one that fit in our schedule. We got a great deal on flights ($100 cheaper than the lowest I could find elsewhere).
I didn't see anywhere to name my own price... and usually we don't plan flights that last minute but DH had given me the wrong date for a bachelor party, and instead of 3 weeks from now, it was this past weekend. Oops!
Anyway, hope that helps... but we didn't notice any huge difference in the way we booked flights (and definitely saw the price before we booked!)

There are two ways to shop priceline. The first is like any other site and they will show you the prices. The other is the name your price. I have only done name your price on hotels and cars successfully. I have tried it for airfare but apparently didn't raise my price enough to succeed. If you do not care about when you fly (arrival & departure times) and you can make your dates flexible, it is worth a try. It is legit, it's just a matter of being successful with it. Also, remember you do have 3 airports around here and while it can be annoying to go out of your way to the furthest, you may open a lot of options and better pricing to yourself. In the meantime also try vayama.com, I have had luck with them in the past as well. Good Luck.
