How was everyone's weekend?
Saturday was just lovely out, so I spent a few hours raking up all the bloody branches our trees dropped over the winter. I hate those trees. After we got back from dinner with my family Derek and I stayed up playing Cribbage for a while. 4 games (and a bottle of wine) and it was fun, even if I lost all 4 games.
Yesterday was an odd day. Our hot water heater stopped working on Friday and they couldn't send anyone out until Sunday between 8am and 1pm. Of course the guy calls at 8:30 saying he's on his way. The weather was cold, I was tired (and maybe a little bit hungover) and just didn't want to be up. I was in a funk. Thankfully I managed to pull myself out of it, especially as the weather got nicer out.
I didn't get everything done that I'd planned this weekend, but I'm happy with the work I did accomplish!
Also, Derek's birthday is tomorrow, and I have NO IDEA what to get him, thoughts?
Re: Good Morning!
Good morning!
The Bahamas was fantastic! The resort was absolutely beautiful and I'm so glad we had a chance to rest up before the rest of this crazy month. I'll post pics and stuff tonight.
Got more unpacking done this weekend and I'd say we're like 90% there. It's finally starting to look more like a home and less like a storage locker. I can't wait to have it all put away so I can start working on decorating and putting together the nursery.
raynes...Hmm... do you guys play Settlers? Maybe an expansion pack or something?

I didn't get half as much done as I wanted this weekend, either. The weather outside was just too nice to stay in and do stuff around the flat. So I basically head out and lay in the park both afternoons and read. DH was out of town, so I had some nice "me" time in the sun. I also started running again, and went out for short runs both days - I picked the C25K up again at about week 4 - good to know that my work with it last year wasn't a total waste.
Happy birthday to Derek, raynes. I'm usually pretty useless with gifts and come up with the most boring things for my H. What is he into? Anything gym-related or reno-related that he has his eye on? Tech stuff?

weekend was quiet but good.... watched Toy Story 3 on Friday night. Saturday I got fitted for new running shoes (I'm embarassed to even say how old mine are, but I have like 4 or 5 pairs so I guess I just havent really thought about it)... of course the only ones they had with what I needed (stability) were pink, so I made the guy order me blue ones... hopefully this fixes the newer knee problems I've been having. I ran errands, went for a run, and then watched the Masters.
Yesterday my neighbor had a RHofNYC viewing party. It was nice to get some "girl time" and hang out, but since one of the girls is due about a week before I would have been it's still tough watching her grow and listen to her talk about the nursery and everything else we would have been getting to do...
I have my ob visit today. I don't expect any answers, but I hope she clears me for some additional bloodwork/testing so I can get some answers soon.

Good morning, all. I am at work, the government shutdown avoided. It's good that it didn't happen, but a friend of mine said it best: I was prepared for the government to shut down, not for it to not shut down.
The weekend was fine--did the running, errand, writing, reading thing. Josh had to go to work yesterday, so that's no fun. I did some experimental cooking (verdict: I've tasted worse) and colored my hair (and kind of my ears, though Josh swears I got it all and you can't see it now. Hmm). Nothing too exciting.
Tonight it's the gym, then picking up Josh from a late conference dinner. Hope everyone has a great day!
I think I will be doing this. We have the "alternate" art for the game, and the expansion pack with the matching art is impossible to find. Like, not even on the internets. So, we'll have to see how different it is from what we've got. Who knows, maybe it'll be fine! But, that's only $30 (or less).
As for the other suggestions, the only issue is that lately we've just sort of been buying things we need and Derek is so bloody frugal that he never just wants anything. Stupid cheap husband.
We'll just not tell H about this little fact, m'kay?
are our husbands related??? We aren't really big on gifts (xmas or birthday) because usually when either of us wants something we'll buy it for ourselves. Or if it's that pricy (say a golf club for him) he won't want it because it's too much and its not "needed".
Pete's birthday is next month. I think I'm going to get him a Kindle (or maybe a Nook, still deciding)... but I know you guys have those already. Pete's fav gifts to give are trips/things to do.... Could you plan a night out in the city? Maybe tickets to a play and dinner...stay over in a hotel???

I had to work Saturday and Sunday and it was pretty hectic.
Yesterday was something like 83 degrees! So, I went for a run after work but it was pretty rough considering the warmest weather I've had to run in all year was like 50 degrees so I wasn't aclimatized at all. I wanted to run 6 or 6.25 and ended up stopping at 5.5 miles but it was a pretty quick pace. I was SO sweaty.
Last night I made brownie covered Oreos and I'm off to work now to share them with my co-workers. Have a great day!
Good morning!
I've got an insane amount of work to cover this week; it's pretty nuts. I seriously have no desk space left... it's all covered with papers. =S I need to get that tackled today!

He mentioned maybe wanting a Kindle, but it's WAY too late for that. I asked if he'd like an "experience" gift and he said no. Jerk. And, we've already seen/bought tickets to all the plays he wants to see. I mean, I could get tickets to something I want.... ha. Maybe I'll just browse around the book store for a while.
We'll just not tell H about this little fact, m'kay?
Morning ladies. What a great weekend.
Saturday, DH and I took the boys shopping at the mall. I was overdue for some new shoes. So I splurged and bought 2 pairs. Saturday night was a kid free night, hung out with friends around the first fire of the year. It was great to be outside hanging with friends. We got to bed around 1 and lets just say I felt like a million bucks when I woke up. I slept until 8:30 and that was the first night, since before pregnancy, I have slept without being woken up! Woot for sleep.
Yesterday we went out to lunch with MIL, and then it was laundry and cleaning the house.
Have a great day everyone. I am swamped at work, so won't be on much.
Good morning! I had a good weekend. Friday night we went out for the Cubs game with some friends. Saturday I did my typical cleaning and laundry. Saturday night we went out to celebrate some friends birthdays. We went to our local sport's bar which for the evening had been transformed into more of a club atmosphere, complete with a DJ. It was fun for something different. Yesterday we didn't really accomplish much other than getting rid of our hangovers while watching the Masters and some baseball.
Tonight we haven't made any definite plans yet but we're considering a date night. There are several movies that we'd like to see and we haven't been to the movies in quiet a while.
This weekend was good. Pretty relaxed. Went to the gym Saturday. Finally went and bought new pants, it was a much needed item.
We spent most of Sunday at Ben's parents place. His mom made a great chicken penne.
Found out this morning that the University is coming off strike!!! So excited about that. We were starting to think this semester was going to be cancelled.
Good Morning!
I'm still recovering from a super busy weekend. Saturday was my BIL birthday so we went to an art show and out to a bar. It was fun but I paid for it Sunday because I had to get up early and drive up to a bridal shower and then race back to the city for a Hockey game.
This week is also going to be packed, I have a concert, a volunteer thing, a party and a Mom and Daughter trip with my MIL, SIL and my Mom. I think I need to rest already.
Ringy-Do you mind sharing the resort? DH and I are trying to plan a trip and Bahamas is on the list.
Good Morning!
Our weekend was good. Friday night was very low key, just dinner and a quiet night at home.
Saturday Dh had to get some work done so I went shopping with SIL.
Sunday was a productive day of yard/house work.
I hope everyone has a great week.
Morning!
I had a really good weekend. We got some stuff done around the house. I went through the maternity clothes that have been given me and sorted it into stuff I'll keep and stuff to donate. We went out with friends and their 2 year old for dinner Friday night and then met other friends Saturday night for fro yo. It was some much needed social time. Sunday we had dinner with my grandparents.
The rest of the time was spent watching the Masters and baseball. So frustrated with the Sox, but glad they could get 2 wins against the Yankees! I actually wore one of my Red Sox shirts out on Saturday and the guy we met up with (who is a huge Sox fan, even has a tattoo) asked me how I could wear that shirt and not be ashamed.
Hi ladies! I'm struggling through 2 more days of work and then it's off to Vietnam! I'm so excited, E and I are planning through our itinerary right now.. aka he's planning while I'm on the nest.
I had a great but exhausting weekend, I had gigs Friday and Saturday night which means being out until at least 3am each night, spent a lot of time playing with my new camera lens, and played poker with some friends last night. I was hoping it would be a laid back night since I was so exhausted from Friday/Saturday but we made a rule that if you ran out of money you could buy back in by doing a shot of Cambodian vodka... and I'm reallly bad at poker. Needless to say it was a rough Monday morning.
Now jumping domestically.
Well that was a crazy couple of years.
Good morning!
I had a great weekend. I went to go see Insidious with some friends yesterday and we had a blast. Saturday I just stayed home and got some cleaning done. Other than that I didn't do much.
Good morning!
Friday I tried to get some shopping done but I didn't have much luck finding what I was looking for. Friday night we had lazy night, we ordered a pizza and watched disk 2 of the 6th season of Weeds.
Saturday I cleaned the entire house top to bottom, including reorganizing closets and cabinets. My whole body is sore from cleaning...pathetic I know! Sunday we went to a party for J's Grandpa's 85th birthday.
Good Morning! T-Minus 4.5 days till Spring Break! I think I get more excited about it than the kids do.
We had a productive weekend. Bought all new lawn/gardening tools, rug for living room, mirror for living room, kitchen table, curtains for guest room and bedspread for our bedroom. Hello credit card debt!
Saturday night we went out with some friends. I was DD (I almost always am, I am pretty much over the whole getting sh!tfaced and being a waste of space the following day). Anyway, it was kind of fun to watch everyone (including DH) get sloppy drunk and embarass themselves on the dance floor.
It is already almost 70 degrees out...I am considering skipping the lesson I had planned and taking the kids outside.
Hope you ladies have a great week!
Morning Ladies,
We had a great weekend. C is staying with us until at least the 18th, which is when the paperwork will be filed to have her placed in our home until further notice. We found out this morning that TPR has not yet been filed, but should be filed soon. I'll keep you guys posted on how things are going.
Today I'm working my ass off applying for jobs for next school year. Fingers crossed that something good comes up.
Fingers crossed you find something MO.
Glad to hear everyone had really good weekends. I think last week was a bit of a sucky one for most.
Friday night we stayed in and just lounged. Saturday we finally got in some friend time, and it was so fun to just hang out with people again. Plus, it was gorgeous outside, so I got in a long walk and the dogs got to frolick outside for most of the day. Granted, that also means they decided to dig to China in a few different spots in the yard.
Yesterday I worked most of the day, but then I had to come home and pass out on the couch. This cold is killing me. Thankfully, I think I've taken enough medicine that it might not get to the next stage. I woke up this morning with a headache and my stomach was super upset, probably from all the gross nose drippage going on.
I can't wait to crawl into bed again later, but for now it's time to get some food.
On Saturday my family threw us a surprise baby shower. I actually knew about it but I didn't tell them I knew because I knew it would make them happy to think they surprised me. I had a really nice time and Olivia got a ton of stuff.
I'm back at work today for my last week at work before I start my maternity leave, that is if all goes well at my appointment tomorrow. The temp is here now so I won't be around too much until now. Have a great day ladies!
Hey ladies!
I had a weird weekend. I was in Providence, RI Thursday through Saturday at the New England League of Middle Schools conference which was great. I went with three coworkers who I am good friends with, so we had a great time together. I got home Saturday mid-afternoon and then I was wiped out the rest of the weekend. DH and I went out to eat Saturday night and then Sunday for brunch (because he hadn't done any grocery shopping while I was gone...but he did surprise me by priming the entryway before I got home!) We watched the Masters yesterday and I got in a 5 mile run, but other than that it was a quick weekend...
Oh, and I only have four days left until vacation!
