So DH's Grandma will be in town for Mother's Day weekend. Not really planned, but that's how it worked out. She wants to take us out for lunch. Eeep! Lunch on Mother's Day is going to be insane and a crowd I typically try to avoid, but she will only be in town for that weekend.
I'm planning on making reservations at an off hour maybe like between 2-3PM. I'm looking for a place in Arlington or Old Alexandria that has prices in $15-20 range that is like Carlyle or Clyde's (I would love to go to either of these places, but we went there the last two times that she was in town). Some place nice, but not too nice. Since they live in FL, they're not used to prices around here and I don't want her to think we're trying to gouge her.
We're looking to get away from Shirlington, since we live near there, we always go there.
Any help is appreciated! There will be 5 of us including Baby Handy.

I'm a big fan of the Columbia Firehouse in Old Town for family activities. It has a great vibe, good architecture, sustainable/local food selections, etc. We go there often for brunch and have gone one other time for dinner - every meal has awesome, tasty things.
Save room for dessert! They have an oatmeal cookie (or somethign like that) ice cream in one of them that is legendary and they also have a sampler plate that brings out little mini versions of a snickers bar, mint chip sandwich and 3-4 little debbie spinoff creations. So tasty.
