How was your weekend?

Mine was low key.  Friday night I hung out at home and gave our apt a good spring cleaning and also had a 1.5 hr phone convo w/my best friend from home catching up (geesh in the 10 days since we'd talk, we apparently had a lot to catch up on).

Saturday the ILs came into down and brought DH's new grill.  The guys assembled it and I just kind of hung around.  Then we met up with MIL and SIL for a late lunch (at an amazing brewery). The IL's left and DH started to feel sick.  So we watched The Craigslist Killer on Lifetime (very good) and then called it an early night b/c we had our race Sunday morning.

Sunday morning we ran the 5 mile Shamrock Shuffle.  It was my worst road-race ever.  I think the sudden heat (70F compared to 40s) and also that my Aunt Flo came to town, it was just a bad combination.  We came home, showered and went to brunch at a place nearby with outdoor seating that we had a Groupon for.  Then we got Oscar and walked to Starbucks and sat in their patio playing Scrabble on the iPad.  After a while we went home and moved the bedroom tv so that we could see it from the deck and watched the Cubs (lose) and the Masters while playing cards and drinking some cocktails.  Then I did a quick trip to the grocery store and we used the grill for the first time and watched "Easy A".  I have to say, we were both disappointed!

What'd you do?

Your Sunday sounds amazing...minus the race bc I hate running. But I'll gie you lots of credit for being a runner.

My weekend was eventful. DH left for Boston for the week for work :( Sucks, but I'm getting used to it.

I headed back to my hometown with PapaBear to have my SIL chop my hair off. And it feels so much better.  Then I met up with a couple friends and we took our dogs to the dog park. Which went really well, with no incidents, I was super happy. I got to have dinner with my parents, and then I headed over to stay at my cousins for the night.

Sunday- I was supposed to walk for MS. But between the 300 people, 50 dogs and someone playing bagpipes (wtf?) Papa couldn't handle it, he was crying and lying down and I felt like a terrible pet mom. So I dropped off my donations and headed home. After that I ran errands, cleaned and did work on the house. I have to say I'm exhausted today. And I miss DH, but I shouldn't complain. Bleh.

Here's to hoping this week flies by!

  • Ours was really low key.

Friday night, we were both exhausted.  We had PB&J's, pretzels, and goldfish for dinner because we didn't feel like going out even to Quizno's to get a sandwich, and since we have a broken pipe, we can't cook anything that uses pans because we have no way to clean them.  I think we were both asleep by 9.

On Saturday I went out shopping for frames with a friend of mine and her son (he is 16 months old).  We had lunch, then I came back home to Chris putting together the bookcase for Carter's room (yay!).  I got my hair cut (much shorter than usual!) and colored.  Sat night, we went to my parents' house for a real meal and to do laundry (we also cannot use our laundry room because of the broken pipe).

Yesterday we went to breakfast, came home, and hung out here all day watching golf and baseball, and sleeping.

Poor Papa!  That sounds really overwhelming for me, so I can only imagine what he must've been thinking!

  • I felt like all we did was run around this weekend! Saturday L had swim class, then it was back home for her nap and for us to clean up the house. That night we had our babysitter come over and we went to dinner with my brother and his friend and then out to a show at a club. The music was great but seriously the opening band played for 2 hours! Needless to say by the time the headlining band came on it was after midnight and we were toast.

Sunday we met up with some friends and their son at craft fair. And then it was back home for Logans nap (noticing a theme yet?) and then it was a fun afternoon at BJ's.

And I am totally still tired from Saturday night. Lame.

  • C and our church play on a softball team and Friday we were in the playoffs.  Doxy dog and I go to cheer! :)  It was a nail-biter and we pulled out an awesome win!  So, we are in the finals this Friday.

Saturday C had to work and I got my hair did.  Nothing major.  Just needed to get some red on my roots since I haven't had anything since before Christmas.  It feels so much healthier.  Then I met a girl from TK to sell some wedding stuff.  I also went over to my mom's house since I haven't seen her in a while.  Spent a little time with her and her FI who is going through chemo for Stage 3 colon cancer.  Ugh!  He just had his third treatment and it's kicking his butt.  Nausea, fatigue, and now hair loss.  I can only imagine.

Yesterday, we had church and then I did some retail therapy and went grocery shopping. Hannah, I DVR'd the Craigslist Killer to watch with C yesterday, but he absolutely refused.  Bleh!  Guess I'll have to watch it on my own...

  • Ours was good.  Friday night we watched movies and ate Mexican.

Saturday I worked a half day in the morning and got a full vacation day to use later this year.  Then I stopped by my best friends parents house cause she was in town for a little bit.  It was great to catch up with her.  We don't see each other much now that she lives in Philly with her FI.  From there we went to my ILs and MIL gave me an amzing massage (she's a massage therapist!) and the boys grilled steaks and veggies for a yummy dinner.  We ended up watching Little Fockers which was disappointing.

Yesterday we didn't do much, had dinner at my parents for our usual Sunday routine then did our grocery shopping.  I was given a basket of indoor plants from my great grandmas funeral and I finally got around to getting bigger pots and transplanting everything last night.  They look great!  I also bought those blown-glass things that allow the water to get into the soil as needed.  They're so pretty!  We got the green and purples ones.

  • Wow, ladies, 3 of you got your hair done and no pics?! I'm disappointed. Lol.

Diane- Poor PapaBear!  There were a lot of dogs w/owners watching the race (including a 3month old Bernese Mountain Dog, who stole my heart...that is my ideal dog breed besides bulldogs, except that they shed so dang much) and DH&I discussed if Oscar could ever handle watching a race w/all the people and commotion.  We both doubt it.  But it sounds like you did the right thing in the situation, to recognize his uncomfortable-ness and leave.  I'd say you're a good doggie-mama!

  • Nothing too exciting here. L and I went to dinner on Friday night, which was nice, we have been trying not to eat out as much but we needed to get out of the house.

Saturday I had to work and L was down at the farm (surprise, surprise). When I got home we worked in the back yard and then grilled steaks and potatoes and drank beer at our patio table that we finally set back up. That was a nice evening, the weather was perfect!

Sunday I worked again but L came in and met me for lunch. When I got home from work I just wanted to relax, so I made dinner and then we watched Due Date. That is a dumb movie.

  • Aww...Diane, your poor puppy!  Boomer would try to lick everyone that went by.

Friday night was low key.  We just hung out, had dinner, watched some TV, etc.

Saturday I got my hair cut and highlighted and then went for a mani and pedi with a friend.  Saturday night we played in a charity curling game.

Sunday I worked for 6 hours and then we had dinner, did some cleaning and laundry and watched part one of the Kennedys mini-series.

  • We had a pretty low key weekend too.  Friday we did some window shopping for things we want for our house and looked at cars.  Friday evening we went out for dinner at a local restaurant.

Saturday we did some shopping for DH's business then shopped for some new jeans for myself.  We were successful!  Yay!  We looked for Coach wallets, but did not find anything that matched my purse so we shall continue looking.  We did a late lunch at Applebee's and then headed to our 90 minute couples massage.  It was awesome!  After that we were pretty tired so we headed home for a bit before heading out to Olive Garden for dinner.

Sunday we decided to go to the outlet mall because there were having some good sales.  We ended up getting 3 pairs of shoes for DH (buy 1, get 2 free!) and 2 dresses for myself.  Overall, we did good :o)  Then we just came home and made steak and potatoes for dinner and watched tv.

That's we watched on Friday, along with Tron.  I thought Due Date was going to be much funnier so it was quite the let down.  I actually enjoyed Tron, which I was dreading to watch because I thought it was going to be all sci-fi lol

  • I had a great birthday weekend!

Friday night I went to dinner with my mom, and then we went to www.sipsandstrokes.com to paint "funky love tree" and get our drink on. We had a great time, and I am really impressed with how well my painting came out!! It took almost three hours to get home because of construction on the interstate though :(

Saturday Steve had to work until noon, then we ate lunch and just relaxed around the house for a while. That night we went to a house warming party for a friend that we had not seen in about 3 years. It was great to catch up with him.

Sunday we got up and had bacon pancakes for breakfast (I pinned them a few weeks ago because I knew Steve would love them) and then went to a friends house for a cookout for my birthday. We had a great time, yummy grilled food, and ice cream cake :) I was drinking blue raspberry vodka lemonades and got a little too drunk. It was fun, but I am paying for it today! Oh, and after Steve drove all the way home he realized that he forgot his phone (they live about an hour from us)! So he has to go back up tomorrow to pick it up. I am sad that I cannot talk to him today.

  • We had a okay weekend, that started off a little rocky.

I had a dentist appointment Friday and it took over 3 hours to get a cleaning and a filling and by the time I got home, I was emotionally drained and in a lot of pain. DH was really good to me though and we ordered pizza (even though we just had it at the beginning of the week), because that's one of my comfort foods and I broke my ban on no alcohol unless its a wedding until I can fit into a dress I love and had 2 big glasses of sangria. We ended up watching the first couple of episodes of Glee on Netflix.

Saturday we went to go see Avenue Q, which Nick loved, though he ended up in kind of a funky mood afterwards. *Hannah- it's more like a parody of Sesame Street than the Muppets, but really funny*  After, we went shopping at Lowes and bought some flowers to plant in our yard and a ceiling fan.

Sunday, we went grocery shopping at Sam's Club and bought grass seed and weed killer for our yards and Nick spent all day spreading that and installing the fan, which is awesome. He spent the rest of the night working on the design for the  porch we are putting in next week. I spent the day working on some art projects.

bad parts? shitty mood re; job hunt questions asked by aunt and uncle, pointless green monster feelings towards this SIL,and what takes the cake? DH started with feaver, chills, and ended up driving home and threw up everything he ate...:(  i had a sinus/stress migranie in the car that cold really helps....unforunately he was so cold that he had the heat on in a 60 degree day....so i was miserable.....trying to get into the house so he could run and make it into the apartment.....i tripped and fell almost falling into the glass front door....caught myself but effed up my knee...had a full blown panic attack in our apartment becuase of it.....and now AF is here and i feel MISERABLE :(

  • our weekend went by wayyy too fast!

DH got his PA license plate which was exciting - it was sort of the last piece of him being a resident here. The best part was we didn't have to go to the DMV to do it! AAA does it apparently, which was AWESOME.  I also ran and worked out my arms and abs and i'm super sore today. We did a lot of cleaning and getting organized, and finally finished our taxes and mailed/efiled them all yay!

Hannah that sucks you had a bad race. My first half was that way. Stay positive though, then next one will be better!

Thanks for making me feel better guys. Hopefully Papa is well rested by the time I get home so we can go for a nice walk.

He'll get there!  Don't worry.  It sounds like you are doing a lot to socialize him, and that's what's going to get him there.  I'm sure he will LOVE the walk this afternoon, too!

I know I've mentioned this here before, but when Dottie was a puppy, I failed a semester of college (minus one class that I got a B in) because I took her to Starbucks every single day instead of going to class.  In my defense, I did study while I was there...unfortunately, only one professor tested out of the book rather than from lecture!

Anyhow, I really do think that is what made her such a great dog (besides the fact that the breed is really awesome anyway).  She met all kinds of different people, and was used to being around a ton of people all the time.  After that semester, I did start going to class, but would still take Dotts to Starbucks every day after class/in the evenings to study to continue that socialization.  Needless to say, I knew every single employee there, along with all of the other regulars!

To this day, if I ask her if she wants to go to Starbucks, she gets SO excited, and starts running around, pawing my shoes, trying to find her leash, stopping to give me kisses for even asking, and gets to the door as quickly as she can.  Same goes for walks :)

  • I?m a bit late on this one, but I didn?t nest at all yesterday so I?m trying to catch up.  My weekend was wonderful but I learned that 3 baseball games in one weekend is too many.  Friday night Jason and I stayed in, watched the movie The Switch (it was actually pretty cute), made dinner, and did laundry.  The O?s game Friday night got rained out which meant a double header on Saturday, and our tickets for Saturday night?s game were good for both games so we got up early Saturday morning, packed an overnight bag, and headed down to Baltimore which is an hour away.  We grabbed lunch and beers at a restaurant/bar right across from the stadium, then went to the first game which was a blast and the O?s won!  About an hour into the second game (after already being in/around the stadium for 9 hours) the O?s were losing horribly and we were tired, so we left before the game ended.  We then drove a half hour to stay the night at his brother & sister-in-laws.  We ended up staying up with them hanging out until 2am; then our 2 year old niece woke everyone up at 6:30am?best birth control ever.  We ate breakfast, then headed back to the stadium, got lunch at Potbellys, and met up with Jason?s family to go to another Orioles game for his uncle?s 50th birthday.  His family was annoying (to me at least), we were both hung over, and the O?s lost, so we were done and just wanted to get home.  We got home around 6:30pm Sunday night, showered, and both were in bed by 9pm.

The best part about the weekend was I felt like Jason and I reconnected again.  I think for the last couple weeks we were kind of getting on each other?s nerves a bit bc we typically just stay home a lot since money is tight, but we let ourselves splurge and I felt like we were actually dating again and found ourselves really flirting with each other again.  I think our relationship needed a little ?spark? to re-energize it, and this weekend did exactly that.
