We've been under construction for a full year now.
My office is the table and storage area. I share it with 2 other people, a printer, a copier/faxer, and a risograph.
I get headaches every.single.day at 11:30. Seriously, I can tell time by how bad my head feels. I think it's because there are 3 computers and countless other things using energy in here, and the wavelengths or something are doing this to me. I know that sounds crazy, but Ghost Hunters say that people are sensitive to high electricity outputs - and I think i'm one of those people.
I have been congested since September 2010, and recently it's been really bad, probably a combo of allergies... but the contractors have been doing work right outside my door since January, so it's hard to tell what exactly the issue is.
Last week, I was out sick 3 days. I felt great yesterday, but today, my head is killing me, i've been coughing up a lung, and my throat hurts.
I've applied to a couple other jobs, but no one seems to want me ![]()
Oh, and I was supposed to be working from home during the construction, but my boss said "I really need you here". Meanwhile, he comes in for about 2 hours a day. I've asked about working for home, and then meeting him here to go over whatever he needs to go over... but he really doesn't seem to care about my general well-being.

Re: Can we talk about how work is literally making me sick?
were I you, I'd start to document this - srsly. and see a doctor -- bc you need to document it for disability or "special" treatment (if it comes to that). (Someone I used to work with got sick -- literally - from carpet fumes in her office and had to be moved to accommodate the illness -- like an ADA thing.)
don't take it lightly, is what I'm saying --
"What is a week-end?"
Thanks Pam. Before today, it wasn't so bad (aside from the headaches that would be gone within an hour of leaving work)... but I did document today's findings. I talked to DH and he said just over the phone he could tell I was sick again.
Now, if only I could get a doctors appointment this week, and not 6 weeks from now
We make the rockin' world go 'round.
Ditto Pam. It is ridiculous that you have to deal with that crap. You should be feeling awesome (given what you have given up for Lent) not $hitty!
See a doctor and get some bloodwork done. You never know!
My coworker has also been having killer headaches a lot lately. I think its weather changes. She looked terrible today and then we had a 2 hour meeting and it was really hot in there.
