I just want to complain for a little bit.
So... my family was here for my grandfather's funeral this weekend. If you remember from past posts, my sister & I don't see eye to eye very often. I try to get along with her. I really do. But she makes so many dumb choices, is inconsiderate & just plain selfish.. I.can't.stand.it.
There's this guy (he's in his mid 40s) who she goes out with (ahem... brownchickenbrowncow) every time she comes up here. Anywho, last time she was up here, she brought him to my house at 2am & he slept over. DH & I were asleep when she brought him home. The following day I told her that I didn't really care for her doing that & dropped it.
Well this time, she went out with him again. I waited up til 2am again so I could lock the doors (mind you, we had to leave the house to be at the funeral the next morning by 8am). I gave up & went to bed leaving the house unlocked.
The next day, she said he was so drunk that he passed out in the car & slept in the parking lot of my TH! I was angry, but just grumbled about it. Later that day, my niece was playing with my sister's phone & was reading her texts aloud to us. She read from my sis to him 'last night was the best sex I ever had... EVER'. EEEK! WTF! Where did this happen? In the parking lot at my house? In my house? When is she going to grow up? She's in her mid 30s & has a kid!
Thankfully, my niece was staying with my parents somewhere else during all this & I don't think she understood what she was reading.
Thanks for listening if you made it this far.
Re: My weekend (LONG vent)
Omg! That is kind of crazy. Plus I think it's weird that she just had to get with him the night before her grandfather's funeral. If I had a funeral to go to the next day, I just wouldn't be thinking about hooking up.
Yikes, she always sounds like a colorful character from your posts!
I'm sorry. She sounds a lot like my sister. A few years ago my sister came to visit me and, even though she was only here for less than 48 hours, she spent half of the limited time we had to hang out and went on a date with a dude she had only met once. I let her borrow my car and the next week I found her underwear by the driver's seat. Her antics honestly just make me laugh now. She and I are polar opposites but somehow (I think mostly because we live 1k miles apart) I made peace with it and now it takes something exceptional for me to get remotely riled up by her behavior. Disengaging and not putting myself in a position of having to rely on her for anything has made dealing with her a lot easier.
How was your grandfather's funeral? How are you holding up? Did you end up leaving work early on Friday? I'm very sorry for your loss and hope that your sister's craziness didn't put too much extra stress on you this weekend!
