I saw from another post that you are in nursing school. I'm an LPN trying to get into an RN program. Right now, I'm working on some prereqs for Normandale's program? I'm just curious where you are going and how you are liking it?
*spoiled to the bone*

Re: **Sue/Mike**
Just the distraction from homework I needed!
I'm finishing up my 2nd of three semesters at Anoka Ramsey CC, so *hopefully* be done this coming December. They seem to change their mobility program each semester, but they have a good program and a high NCLEX pass rate.
I looked into Normandale, but their prereqs seemed ridiculous for a two-year program! ARCC's is reasonable, you can see it here. I also applied to North Hennepin and Century, but my biology GPA wasn't high enough (lame-o).
If you do have interest in applying to ARCC, they have a mandatory info session (you get a attendance certificate that must be turned in with the application) that you have to sign up for, so I would check the schedule and sign up just in case. From what they told us at the info session, ARCC has a high acceptance rate for the LPN-RN program.
Hope that helps, and good luck!
I meant to write Sue, lol, not Sure! Anyways, thanks for getting back to me. The prereqs sound much better than Normandale's. I'm a little bummed though because I live in the Lakeville/Farmington area so that would be an insane commute up to *** Rapids.
I've considered South Central, Inver Hills, Normandale, Red Wing, Rochester... they are all just as hard to get in to. I've decided to go with Normandale even though they have lots of prereqs because I know other LPNs I work with have gotten into their program and I'd likely be done at Normandale quicker than the rest.
My summer class load is really going to stink because I have to take accelerated organic chemistry and accelerated anatomy. If I don't take them this summer I won't be able to apply in December for summer 2012 acceptance. This is getting really frustrating but I'm still determined to get it done! Sorry for the rant.
Thanks for listening and good luck with the rest of your program and the dreaded NCLEX!
Ha! I was wondering why you **** it out!
That sounds like quite the summer load, good luck with that.... I haven't really heard anything about the southern programs, since my search was just up in the northern area. Depending out your clinical schedule, class is only three days a week. We have some other LPNs that commute from St. Cloud and instructors that come up from Eagan.
