also... catching up.....Kiahj, Mrshabious, and Eeclem

Napa post got so long, I neglected to add:

Kiahj - so sorry you're going through this rough patch, and as the others all said, if there's anything we can do for you here -- even if just to listen -- happy to be the safe venting place for you.Once a DC Nestie, always a DC Nestie.

Eeclem - what did you decide about the house? (my advice would be to buy, too....)

MrsHabious - congrats on your remission news! never underestimate the power of positive thought in times like this!

what else did I miss?

You're so sweet, thanks Pam.  I really do appreciate the support of you and all of the amazing women on this board.  Smile

  • No go on the house. Too big, too far, too much work. It was overwhelming and the cost of utilities/maintenance might have done us in.

    Welcome back!

    The DC Nest. Winers welcome.

  • KiahJ -- bc your dog's middle name is my daughter's name, I feel a kindred connection. :)

and yeah, I'm divorced, too. My kids were 3 and 8 when I kicked my ex's ass out (he's in federal law enforcement, too, but different branch...). It is hard, it is sad -- but it is not the end of the world. (yeah, it may seem that way sometimes, I know) I wish there had been a Nest for me to lean on, back in those days.

Aw, I love her middle name... always wanted to name a little girl that.

It has been sucky, but I've had a lot of support, which I am grateful for.  We are continuing to go to therapy, which sort of surprised me that he has continued to show up, but we either have a lot to work through or we need to walk away.  Either way, someone smart (several smart people) have told me to make sure that I protect myself, hence the attorney rec.  So we'll see what happens, but thanks for sharing your story.  Nice to see that there is life (and a great life judging from how happy & great you are!) after this baloney.
