North Station --> Lechmere closing
Anyone else affected by this? I go from Haymarket to Lechmere every day for work, and the bus driver this morning said to add about an hour onto my commute (which is already one hour) because of the shuttles now needed.
I either need to move or get a new job. This is not worth a 2 hour commute
Re: North Station --> Lechmere closing
Oh, that's terrible. Where are you coming in from? I know there's a bus from Harvard to Lechmere, but I doubt that would be any faster if you have to factor in the red line.
Chelsea. So I already have to walk .5 miles to a bus, wait anywhere from 5 - 45 (no joke) minutes for a bus, 10-20 min bus ride to Haymarket and then wait for the greenline to Lechmere. This is going to be hell. Thanks MBTA!
Thanks for all your thoughts though
the pity helps (hehe)
Yeah, I'm just going to have to play with it. The bus driver said to add an hour to my commute because of the number of people who are going to need the shuttles during rush hour. I could always walk, too...it's not that bad of a walk but it just really messes up my timing. The attorney I worked with said the same thing about them doing the same thing only a few years ago. The signs said April 30- Dec., but someone lovingly pointed out that it doesn't say Dec 2011, and knowing the MBTA this could be Dec 2020
So true. It took them forever to get Copley and Arlington done. And the Harvard Square improvements were supposed to be done last fall, but they're still under construction. At least the MBTA is consistent in its inconsistency.
Is there a station you could drive to that would give you a straighter shot than what you have now? Maybe one of the commuter rail lines that go to North Station? At least when the weather's bad, anyway.
