I was just wondering how many of us still live in their home town and how many have moved away. So I thought I'd put together a little survey.

If you moved away, when did you move? I moved away for college (for 4 years), though only 45 minutes away. Then I moved away when I got a job after college (for 5 years) in the Philly suburbs.
Where do you live now? DH and I recently moved (back for me-not for him) to State College. It's good to be home

Good survey. I've often wondered what percentage of people stay in the area and what moves away.
Where is your hometown? The area is called the Quad Cities. It's on the IL/IA state border along the Mississippi River. I'm from the IL side.
Did you live in the country/city/suburb? City, it's population stays around 45K or so (but the entire Quad City area with country folk and such is over 300K)
If you moved away, when did you move? I moved away at 18, when I went to college. I moved to Milwaukee for school with the idea that it was going to be Chicago-esque. It certainly is not :O(, although I did like it, it just wasn't what I was planning on.
Where do you live now? Chicago. Moved here "permanently" in 2009 when I graduated school...although I started living here in 2008 for an internship and then DH stayed here in 2008, so I visited a ton (Chicago is 1.5ish hrs from MKE and 3ish hrs from the Quad Cities)

Where do you live now? Still in Htown, but in another county now. Looking to move back to the other county when it comes time for kids to go to school.

Where do you live now? Mattituck, Long Island, NY. We originally moved to New Suffolk with my Grandparents, then to Southold, where my parents still live, and now I live with mah hubby in Mattituck.

Yup sure do! I actually live in the condo I grew up in. DH and I now rent it from my mom and plan on buying it.

If you moved away, when did you move? we moved several times when I was a kid-and ended up living on the same road as both my grandparents but it was not the home my Dad had grown up in. As an adult I move for college (4.5 hours) and out on my own but in neighboring towns at 25 and again at 28

If you moved away, when did you move? I lived in Boston May 2003 - June 2004, moved back home for masters degree, then moved for PhD to Ann Arbor, MI from August 2007 till present.
Where do you live now? I'm moving back to Clarence soon (if we ever get our close date on our house!) We wanted to live in the city, but couldn't find a house we liked in our price range so we bought in my hometown, 3 miles from my parents' house. This proximity will be helpful when we have kids as my parents are retired and my mom loves spending time with grandchildren (she only has one at the moment and really wants more).

Did you live in the country/city/suburb? Ha...see above. It's a suburb.
If you moved away, when did you move? I moved into Kansas City when I had my daughter and got married, so I would have been 18. I didn't move out of the Kansas City area until I was 27, though. Then I lived in other parts of Missouri, in Dallas, and in Oklahoma City, before I moved back to Independence 3 years ago.
Where do you live now? I am not only back in my hometown, I now live about 3 minutes away from the house in which I grew up, and only 5 minutes away from the hospital where I was born.Where is your hometown? Springfield, MA
