I'm back too!

Despite all of the drama surrounding my baby shower, it was really great! My future SIL and her Mom did an amazing job and we got a lot of really nice things for the baby. I'm catching up on posts now, hope you all had a nice weekend!

  • Nice that you enjoyed yourself! What was all the drama about? I don't remember reading about that.

I'm wondering the same thing - what drama? Glad you had fun!

Ok, I thought I had posted about it but clearly not. So my future SIL and her Mom said they would like to throw me a shower like a day after they found out I was PG. Great! It was really generous of them to offer and her Mom has a pretty good sized house, so they could fit all of the friends/family in it. My sister then decides that she wants to throw a shower, and I tell her SIL is already throwing one, and SIL says "but we can do stuff together." My sister acts like this is all well and fine. Fast forward to January/February SIL sends sister an e-mail asking her about ideas, etc for the shower and sister never responds. I ask sister and she claims to have never gotten the e-mail but never calls SIL to tell her or ask about the e-mail. My sister then starts calling my other SILs to complain that she should have been the one throwing the shower and gets all dramatic (and I'm thinking who cares? It's a baby shower!!) Anyway, through all of this my sister won't talk to me about it and is ignoring future SIL. Future SIL and her Mom continue on with planning the shower and when it comes time to RSVP my sister has my 12 year old niece call future SIL instead of doing it herself. At the shower my sister completely ignored future SIL and her Mom. How nice.

Also, last Tuesday my Dad's wife decided that she is going to come, and bring another uninvited person. That would be fine except the RSVP date was March 15, and my Dad's wife never made any indication that she was going to go. As a matter of fact, my Dad made us invite her. So then future SIL and her Mom are scrambling to try and make it work (they made aprons for everyone that RSVP'd and didn't have any time to whip 2 more out) and then we get a call Thursday that Dad's wife has to work on Saturday and won't be able to make it after all.

    Gotta love the family drama!
