Home

I am going to break this down into rooms. Everyone is included in this- renters and owners. Today is going to be bedrooms (bow chicka wow wow). Let's see pictures and any descriptions you would like to add.

ETA: Sorry, I ment your bedroom/master bedroom...not spare rooms.  That will be a different post.

Re: Home

  • Oh dear Lord.  No one wants to see our master right now.  Ugh.

Our nursery would be WAY cute, but it's too gender-neutral right now to show off yet.  Needs some boy or girl decor to give the full effect.

  • This picture was taken a few months ago.  The only thing different is we have different bedding.  I loved the quilt we had on it since it was made by my late grandma, but it just didn't work well on a king size.  It isn't anything special, but it works.  It has an attached 1/2 bathroom also.

  • Nobody wants my master bedroom. We haven't gotten around to redoing it yet.

However. here are some pictures anyway. The pictures are from the day we closed (March 2009). The room is about 13x13; all of the furniture came with the house (we have updated the bed to an iron frame, queen size bed) and is about 70 years old. Jesus has since vacated the bedroom; not easy to bow-chica-bow-wow with the son of God eying you up...

The first week of June, we plan on painting the walls this color:

    And the trim this color:

ETA: forgot about our new carpet...found a picture:

  • Okay, first - I need to post a before of this room - and by before I mean the walls before we started painting. The walls were just too awesome that I hated painting over them.  This was Big M's childhood room and this is how he painted it way back in the 70s.

And this is how we have it now.  Since these pictures were taken we've replaced the TV and purchased a queen size bed, so the bedding is also different.  But everything else is the same. Including the lack of curtains. haha

(We've finished painting the panels in the closet door since this picture was taken).

  • This is our (only) bedroom.

    image

The day our furniture was delivered.  You can see 1 nightstand, the dresser, mirror, chest and bed.  Other than the other nightstand, our furniture moving around and our laundry basket, that's about it.  Oh, and we put down a gray area rug.  And we added dog stairs up to the foot of the bed.  (fancy, haha)

View from the other side- through that door is our dining room.

    image

This view features our spectacular only closet.  For reference, the door in this picture is 24" wide and the closet is 38" wide total.  The room is 13 x 11, which isn't tiny, but isn't large.

We ordered too much furniture, but it is nice, solid, hard wood and we got really awesome deal on it, so it stays.

  • Our Master Bedroom is still a work in process but has come a long way from Green walls and green shag carpet.

His and her's closets, but still under construction. We have to get new closet doors and re-do the trim.

We also have our own private entrance to the bathroom, but I wish we had a master bath!

  • I don't have any pictures. All you need to know is that it's WAY too small for all the giant furniture we have crammed in there. Who needs space to walk? All we do is sleep in there anyway.

  • No pics, because it's a disgrace.  It's small, and way too small for our kingsize bed, a night table, a dresser, and all of my crap.  3 of the walls are horsehair plaster, the 4th is wood paneling.  Hardwood floors.  Nothing matches.  Our bedset is all purples, and we're still using the primary colored check-patterned curtains the prior owners left behind.  Ugh.

  • Mary, I like your bedding!

Here's our bedroom. The only thing different now is that I switched out the bell lamp shades for white drum shades.

Some day, I'd like to paint the walls something other than off-white!

  • You don't wanna see mine. It's basically a mattress/box spring on the floor (for co-sleeping), a brown & blue comforter that smells like dog no matter how much I wash it, the same beige paint as the rest of the house, no curtains, a random black night table, and a random table with a tv on it.
  • We just moved in - so I dont have any pictures of us in the bedroom but I do have one from the relator website I snagged before it was taken off- We currently have a blue white and tan quilt and a king sized bed in there with a million boxes it seems. We have an antique rocker and our furniture comes in at the end of the month: its the gramarcy collection from Macys.  we kept the blue walls and teh curtains for now, it also has a full master bath out of the picture with a double vanity and an awesome walk in closet.

  • I don't have actual pictures of our room, but the decor is based off of this picture:

    image

We used the following paint color have the following bedding/furnishings:

    image

The room is really bright - it's in the corner of our unit so we have windows on two sides. We each have our own closets and there's a full bath.

That's really funny! We love the color - it's so calming and rich! I couldn't believe it when I found the bedding - too perfect! But, we're still not finished with everything - need a headboard, area rug and new nightstands (we're using non-matching ones at the moment!).

Well it looks amazing so far! I love it!

    Bedroom 017

Most of this was repurposed in our guest bedroom when we moved.

  • I can't believe I don't have pictures! We just updated the bedroom and we're so proud of it!

The room is probably 16' x 16'. The previous owners added a small addition and used it as a den. The bump out added 2 huge windows and a patio door.

The walls are SW Software... a dark gray. We are highlighting the room with red accents- lampshades, artwork, etc.

We have a sitting area with a red hanging lamp and a recliner.

Also, my stripper pole is in there Smile

  • We live in a 3 floor townhouse style condo. Our bedroom/closet/master bath is the whole 3rd floor.

This is our bedroom from the top of the stairs before we painted/moved stuff in:

and this is after we painted/moved stuff in. Please excuse the HUGE mess. We had literally just moved in.

ETA: pic of our walk in closet. <3 This is the left side, the top two shelves are Jon's the bottom two are mine and he has the rack across the back of the closet.  On the right side is another rack, which is mine and underneath my rack is a small shelf that gives more room for shoes

  • I don't have any pics here at work but we have a fairly large master bedroom. It's 15X30 , has a walk-in closet ( that even has a window) and a master bathroom w/shower stall attached.

The walls of the room are this color

    image

For decor, we just have our bed, 2 nightstands, 2 dressers, my vanity table , free standing oval shaped mirror, tv w/ dvd/vcr player and the 2 doggie crates. We always keep saying we want to put up pictures but never get around to it. Oh, J also has his weight bench and hand weights on the opposite end of the room. It's really big enough to be like 2 rooms or a bedroom & sitting area but with the weight bench & dog crates, they take up that half of the room.

  • our master bedroom is pretty big, but please excuse the mess! We're in between trips right now and it's hard to keep on top of everything.

    image image

two shots of my closet, you can kind of see the 2nd hanging rack behind the first one and some of the shelves. It's a pretty huge closet, compared to what I'm used to!

    image

my closet door is on the left side of this little alcove, which is usually nice and bright. All of my makeup it on top of my bureau. Outside the door is a small balcony that Clint loves but we never really go out there. The door does give a nice cross breeze in the summer, though.

    image

here's the view when you're standing in the alcove. We don't have a tv in our bedroom, but we do have a computer. Also note Pansy sleeping on Clint's side of the bed. Eventually I'll finish my quilt that just happens to match the walls, and we'll get some better furniture and artwork up so it doesn't look so much like we've just moved in.

    image

Clint's side of the room and his closet, which is much smaller than my closet. It's normally not this clean, but he lost his spare car key and we cleaned up his stuff while searching.

    image

my side.... a big ol' mess. All my jewelry and perfume are on that bureau. I also have 2 other bureaus in the spare room, but clint and I both have clothes in them.
