Homemade Terra Chips!

I don't usually like to toot my own cooking horn, but over the weekend, I got a great recipe for sweet potato (you could use beet, parsnip, etc) chips. Seriously, they taste exactly like Terra Chips. Same crunch, same sense of fattiness, but with only 1 tbsp per gigantic potato.

My life is now complete.

The post about them is up on my blog today.

Re: Homemade Terra Chips!

  • I loooove Terra Chips! Yay!

  • Oooooo, I'm excited.  I have a sweet potato that's begging to be used up!

  • Reading your post, I feel like this would be a great thing to use the dehydrator for.  It might take a bit longer, but then I could leave it on all day while we're at work.

  • Totally. The original recipe actually calls for a dehydrator!
  • Sweetness.  I will make some this week!  Now, to go to the fancy pants organic grocery store to locate coconut oil!  (and also corn tortillas)

  • Pssst. You can make apple chips using a very similar method (sprinkle with cinnamon, bake at low temp for a very long time - no oil necessary!). Nom!

I did that as part of my Christmas goodie boxes.  Nom indeed.
