Ob/Gyn recs in the Columbia/Laurel area?
Does anybody have an ob/gyn that they like in the Columbia or Laurel area?
My current doc isn't in network with my new health insurance, so I'm lady doctor shopping. Also interested in midwives. Not pregnant, but hoping to be in the relatively near future, and I tend a smidge hippy-dippy, so a practice that is supportive of going drug free (but won't be mean if I change my mind) is a big plus. Oh, and I prefer a woman. Because I'm a sexist pig.
halp?
Re: Ob/Gyn recs in the Columbia/Laurel area?
I go to the Women's Ob-Gyn Group in Columbia (right across from Howard Community College). I've been going there since I was 15 and I love it (my mom goes there too.) However I have obviously never been through childbirth/pregnancy with the group so I can't speak to that. They always have a few nurse practitioners on staff which appeals to me too bc they are usually easier to see than the docs. I have seen several different doctors/NPs there and I have never had a bad experience. My favorite is Dr. Brandon but she just does straight gyn now, no deliveries.

I go there too. I really like it. I see Dr. Hammond and love her. She's so sweet. My sister also goes there and just had her first baby (a little over a year ago) She really enjoyed the fact that she got to meet each doctor throughout her pregnancy. She liked all of them - some more than others.
I also go to CWC. I love Dr. Richards and Dr. Pilevsky, but everyone there is great.
re: Esposito, Mayer, and Hogan. I had gone to them for years for regular GYN care. But once we started TTC and I ended up leaving their office in tears twice in 3 months (the nurse practitioner was a big part of this) I knew I'd never go back there for OB care. I went to CWC when I got released from Shady Grove and it was the best decision ever.

Ditto CWC. I had some (fully disclosed around here) issues with them when I had some issues a few months ago - but I think that boiled down more to issues with one particular person at the front desk than anything at all with the doctors. Dr. Davis delivered DS and is the only male in the practice - and he's wonderful. Dr. Pilevsky is probably my favorite from a warm and fuzzy perspective - but they're all pretty great.
