Places in Central PA to host a 30th birthday party??

I'm helping to plan/host a 30th birthday party for a close girlfriend of mine.  It's going to be in late summer/early fall, so an outdoor location is a possibility.

This friend is not really a big drinker and we're looking to invite possibly 50 ppl or so.  We'd be willing to have it in York, Harrisburg/surrounding areas, Lancaster, Gettysburg, etc.  It will be a mixed group, including old/young married couples, singles, male, female, etc.  No kids though.  There is no limit to the budget.  We'd possibly like to have it somewhere where food/beverages are served, whether it's just appetizers or a meal.  Thank you for any suggestions!!

  • Is the guest of honor a sports fan at all?  I really wish DH or I had a summer birthday, because I would love to rent a suite out at either the Senators or Revolution baseball stadiums (a small suite) for a birthday party.

  • I just held a 30th birthday party for a friend at Ruby Jades in York,  It turned out really nice, but we didn't use their food.  The owner is a little hard to work with, but she only charged $50 to rent the place and provided a waitress to serve alcohol.

Ruby Jades is no longer in business. We went there a few weeks ago and it was vacant.

    Married 6/10/09 in Bermuda.
  • That's a shame, I haven't been there since the party.  I wonder if it will reopen or if someone bought the place?!
  • Thanks for the suggestions!  She is a sports fan, so I'll check out the York Revolution stadium.  I didn't realize Ruby Jade's had closed!  That's too bad.  :(
