Tuesday Confessions
I confess that I"m annoyed with the ILs.
Our primary guest bedroom has a full size bed. We just purchased another bedset for the basement guest room which is a queen. The IL's will be visiting in June along with the GP-IL's so we need both rooms. We planned on putting the grandparents in the basement (finished obviously) because it is cooler, quieter and they will need a queen size bed.
Now the IL's want us to buy a new bed for the original guest room, they have even offered to pay for it.
The reason I'm annoyed is that the bedding in that room has already been purchased, the paint matches it and I really like the way it looks. I spent a lot of time making the guest room look relaxing and finished. I don't exactly want a queen size bed in there because it will take up more room and we'll have to get new bedding (have I mentioned that I really like the bedding that is in there), not to mention I don't want to move a new bed in and find some where to store the old bed. I have a baby and don't have time to hunt for a new bed and bedding, move it in and find somewhere to store the old stuff. Lastly, when we have another child AJ will move into that room and then we will have move the bed again.
I understand that the queen bed is more roomy but the bed that is in there is very nice. I feel like sending them a list of area hotels.
I'm all for making guests comfortable but I feel like it is rude of them to make such a request. It seems like a lot of work for a short visit (and I don't want them to be too comfortable because they will stay longer).
All in all I know I'm being whiny and we will probably let them buy a new bed for the room they just annoy me.

I am annoyed with your IL's as well but I have a question. Don't older people get cold? So wouldnt' it be best to put them upstairs and let your IL's have the basement? I am only saying that because when I lived with my Grandparents they kept the heat at 78 and the 800 dollar a month Gas bills didn't make them think twice
I confess that REFUSE to go to another wedding this year. I AM OVER IT. I also confess to planning a trip to Rio on dates that will allow me to miss a wedding in October.
I confess that I am super annoyed that DH hasn't started on our taxes yet. Ummm.. the 15th is Friday! And he doesn't seem concerned about it either.
I also confess that I am so overwhelmed with stuff that needs to be done, I feel like doing nothing at all.
The good news is you have until April 18th this year b/c of Emancipation Day. . . .but maybe you shouldn't tell your H that!
I confess I am over everything wedding related. I have to go to a shower this weekend, a wedding memorial day weekend, and a wedding in June. I love these people dearly but the thought of going to anymore weddings makes me want to puke!

Faith, I would put your foot down with the IL's. I don't let anyone run my life that way, not even my own parents. If they don't like it, they can go to a hotel. Don't let them make you feel bad, as if you're being a biotch for wanting your guest room to stay as is. I would have your DH say "We like our guest room as is, and are not planning on making any changes..... Yes, we understand that you are offering to pay for the new bed, but we are not planning on making any changes to our guest room..... I know that you would like a larger bed, but we are not planning on making any changes to our guest room..... We're sorry if you don't find our current guest room to be comfortable enough to stay here. We will understand if you want to stay at a hotel that can accommodate you better, since we aren't planning on making any changes to our guest room." Keep repeating until they get the message. And don't thank them for the offer of the new bed, they're not doing you a favor, they're doing themselves a favor.

Been there, when did you start working out more? It took a while for my weight to start coming off, I say and cried for about 15 minutes on Saturday.
i went from 2 or 3 days a week at best to 5 days a week solid at the start of october. i'm finding that some of my pants don't close anymore...grr
